Optoma Technology HD90 Overview

With a 1200 lumen LED light source instead of an incandescent lamp, Optoma's HD90 LED Home Cinema Projector is able to boast a lamp life of over 20,000 hours and a noise level of approximately 23dB. Ready to bring the big screen experience to your living room, it features a native Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution as well as HDMI 1.4a mandatory 3D compliance for viewing 3D video from Blu-ray players, select computer graphics cards, and more. The included lens gives you a 1.25x zoom with 1.22 to 1.52:1 throw ratio, giving you some wiggle room when adapting the projector to rooms and screens of different sizes. Further augmenting its installation flexibility is vertical and horizontal lens shift, on top of vertical keystone correction.

For digital and 3D connectivity, the projector provides two HDMI inputs. In addition, it includes VGA, component, and composite inputs for any legacy analog equipment. A VESA 3D sync port drives the included (or third-party) IR emitters, and there is a USB port to recharge 3D glasses or power other devices that feature USB powering. For integration with automation systems such as Crestron there is an RS-232 port, while two 12V LVC triggers allow the proctor to control other appliances in an A/V installation, such as motorized screens.

In addition to the aforementioned 3D RF emitter, the HD90 includes a pair of RF 3D glasses, an IR remote control, and a power cord.

1200 Lumen LED Light Source
LEDs boast a lower power consumption and much greater life expectancy than traditional incandescent lamps. The LED is estimated to last 20,000 hours

Note: To determine the ideal brightness level for your application, you will need to take into account the screen width, distance from the projector to the screen (throw distance), amount of ambient light near the screen, and the reflectivity (gain) of the screen surface used
Single-Chip DLP Technology
The projector also uses a 0.65" chip covered in millions of micro-mirrors to produce an image. DLP features less spacing between pixels and better contrast than many comparable LCD-based systems
1.25x Zoom and 1.22 to 1.52:1 Throw Ratio
Throw ratio is one of the most important specifications a projector has as it tells you the image size (width) you will get at a given distance from the screen. For example, at the 1.12x zoom setting and a 9' 10" distance from the screen, this projector will throw a 100"-diagonal (87"-wide) image
16:9 Native Aspect Ratio
This projector features Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, which results in a 16:9 "widescreen" native aspect ratio - the standard for HDTVs. In addition, the projector can show 4:3 content, either by adding black bars to the sides (pillaring), stretching the image to fit, or cropping the image
2.35:1 Super Wide Viewing Mode
The Auto23 configures the aspect ratio accordingly when using a fixed or powered anamorphic lens (available separately)
Stereoscopic 3D Support
This projector supports all HDMI 1.4a mandatory 3D formats for required for HD video, and includes a VESA sync port for connecting an RF sync box. Additionally, the projector features built-in conversion of 2D content to 3D, so you don't even need a 3D source to enjoy 3D. A pair of active 3D glasses plus an RF sync box are included. Additional glasses - such as ZF2300GLASSES - available separately
Lens Shift
In addition to keystone correction, which is a digital correction, this projector features lens shift. Lens shift allows you to align the image vertically and horizontally in cases where the lens is not perfectly centered on the screen - ideal when working around tight spaces. Because it is an optical correction, lens shift does not affect picture quality in the way that keystone correction can. This projector provides ±60% vertical and ±10% horizontal shift
23dB Operation
A cooler operating temperature thanks to its LED lamp means the HD90 is able to keep noise levels around 23dB - over 30dB is common for incandescent-lamp-based projectors
Glass Lens
An all-glass, multi-coated lens helps provide an aberration-free picture
PureEngine Image Processing
Helps ensure judder-free video accompanied by balanced colors
UltraDetail Technoloy
Helps boost apparent detail for even sharper-looking HD pictures
ISF Calibration
Allows certified installers to configure optimized Day/Night viewing modes
