I have a Bower lens 500mm 1.8f could this adapter work on my canon 5D Miii?
Asked by: Fernanda
While I am unfamiliar with a 500mm f/1.8 lens from Bower (and I know of no manufacturer that makes an f/1.8 version of a 500mm lens), I do know that they make (and we carry) the Bower 500mm f/6.3 Manual Focus Telephoto T-Mount Lens, B&H # BO50063, the Bower 500mm f/8.0 Manual Focus Telephoto T-Mount Lens, B&H # BO5008K, and the Bower 500mm f/8 Manual Focus Telephoto T-Mount Lens, B&H # BO5008P. If you own one of these types of lenses that use a T-mount adapter, then yes, the Bower T-Mount to Canon EF Mount Adapter, B&H # BOTMCAF, would be compatible to connect your lens to the EF lens mount used on the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera.

question

I'm using the T-Mount with a Celestron SLR Camera Adapter. I noticed it came with a protector black cap. Since I'm assuming it wasn't meant as waste on the manufacturer's end, is it meant to be an inside the lens cap when not in use, since a standard lens wouldn't fit on the outside? Please advise on its purpose so I utilize it more efficiently. Picture would be greatly appreciated if not too much effort.
Asked by: MELISSA J.
I didn't receive this cap with mine. And I can't imagine leaving the adapter on the camera while it's not attached to a telescope or some sort of T-mount lens. When this adapter is left on my scope I cover the it with a standard Canon rear lens cover. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

question

I am very confused, how do you use this T-mount to a camera designed to fit it's design onto a telescope? Doesn't the T-mount have to be a specific size? For example if you needed this to fit 1.25 focuser, how would you know that this t-mount fits this size? Can anyone explain or redirect me to a different adapter?
Asked by: Anonymous
You need to use an adapter compatable with your telescope. If you want to use an CanonEOS camera, and there is not a campatable adapter for you telescope for the EOS, you mayhave to diasy chain mreo tha one adapter. If you have parfocailty problems, you mayneed to piroitize focus on the camera viewfinder, and secondarily adjust the focus of youroculars. Best, RJR
