I bought this for my son who is a drummer. He LOVES it- says that he can probably ditch his full drum kit and just use this for many of his smaller gigs where there is not enough room for his full set. The sounds are amazing and the pad sensitivity is spot on. Great product for the $300!

I own other alesis products that work great, but the samples & sound circuit in this are very poor at best, replaced with Yamaha DTX-Multi12 Multi-Pad.

Yes, it features USB MIDI control for use with plugins and you can record directly into Logic Pro X from the audio outputs, going into your interface. System requirements for Mac are OS X 10.7, 10.8, 10.9.
