Sirui N-3204X overview

  • 1Description

The versatile Sirui N-3204X Carbon Fiber Tripod is a compact camera support with 180° reverse-folding 8x carbon fiber legs, one of which unscrews to convert to a monopod. The tripod has a load capacity of 39.7 lb, weighs 4.2 lb, and reaches a maximum height of 69.3". When the legs are folded back around the chassis the tripod measures 22.8".

The tripod's split center column is reversible and removable, allowing the mounting platform to sit just 5.9" high. Each leg's height and angle can be individually adjusted, and one of the legs can be removed and converted to a monopod. A section of the center column can be added to the monopod to increase its maximum height to 68.9".

A ballast hook on the center column enables you to hang weight and add stability.
Foam padding on two of the tripod legs for added comfort.
Three leg-angle positions for uneven terrain.
Rubber feet with retractable spikes provide stability on most surfaces.
Padded carrying case, shoulder strap, and wrist strap included for transport, as well as tools, an extra 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 stud, and an extra platform.

    Sirui N-3204X reviews

N-3204X Carbon Fiber Tripod is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A heavy duty, versatile, light tripod After doing lots of research like everyone else I decided on this tripod. Why? It has more features and just as good as quality as the really expensive tripods. I am going to use for Family shoots and Landscapes. I may have been able to go with the next step down the 2204 series but I want the height that this one had. This thing is extremely solid and will handle anything you can throw at it so if you are looking for a light strong tripod this is it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seemed sturdy but one leg broke off after using it twice! I had this item about a week and had used it on two occasions. It seemed to be very sturdy and I really liked that one leg easily screwed off to function as a monopod. I had used that once. I was extending the legs to set it up inside my house and when I loosened a leg and pulled it out, it simply kept going, completely out of the tripod and clearly broken. I did not hear any unusual noise like something breaking. I could see the plastic piece inside the leg and could hear it slide up and down when I moved the tripod. Probably a manufacturing error. Thankfully B&H cheerfully took it back, paid for return shipping, and refunded my purchase. I plan to but another carbon fiber tripod from B&H but not a Sirui. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality, great price NIce, sturdy and light tripod for a great price. Although long term durability is unknown to me at this point, it seems just about as well made as the comparable gitzo - except with a longer warranty. Came with a good pack, a sling strap for use without the pack, and a nice set of allen keys. Monopod option takes just a minute to pull off, and doesn't appear to compromise stability.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away I bought this tripod from another vendor (and have since purchased two tripods from B & H.) In 13 months, the legs fell off twice and the center column froze, requiring me to send it for repair three times. The most recent episode, I used the tripod twice before the leg froze, and while trying to free it, fell off. This tripod was a terrible waste of time and money. Stay away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase First time tripod buyer and need something sturdy and relatively light. This has held my Nikon D500 and Nikon 70-200mm 2.8fl on a windy beach day. Was able to travel with it on airplanes without an issue. I also purchased the lateral arm to take top down photos from Sirui and that also is very sturdy and holds heavy lens. I paired it with the Sirui k40 ball head. Saves lots of money vs gitzo/rrs *which I would like to buy, but not right now in my life hahaha!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product from great company Stable light tripod. Locks on legs take only half turn to lock or unlock. Last section of legs has markings which help setting up for leveling or always getting back to my preferred height I have several products from Sirui, including their gimbal head, and find the finish and quality to topnotch. I have Gitzo tripods and heads and find Sirui just as good in finish, quality but better in features such as the half turn locks and measure markings on the legs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Construction.... I've had this tripod for just about 3 months. I've been pleased with the construction, weight, height, sturdiness, etc. until recently. It has seen very little use - meaning with collapsing the legs as it sits in my home studio much of the time. I've used it on location about 5 times. This past weekend, the first (large) section on one of the legs would not slide back easily. After attempting several times, and slightly turning the leg back & forth, I could get the leg to retract. I attempted to set the tripod up this morning and that same leg section would not easily release (like all other legs and sections). After using some pulling power, I could extend the section. I contacted Sirui and was told that the plastic part inside the leg was probably broken and they would send me new parts along with instructions on how to fix. Sort of seemed that this was a routine issue. With the tripod, ball heads, QR plates, lateral arm, etc. I'm disappointed in Sirui - with what appears to be a known problem, seems like steps would be taken to correct the manufacturing process. I guess at least now I can add 'Tripod Repair Technician' to my resume.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely recommend and good investment Very good tripod. Stable and sturdy: I feel comfortable my camera and lens won't fall over from lack of support. Easy to use, open and close. Have had no problems with over opening any of the legs. Light enough to carry. Quality purchase and should last forever.
