question

If I'm putting a canon 10-18mm efs lens on this adapter and my omd camera, what will be the affective focal length of the lens in full frame terms? Is it 20-36mm? Is it 15-36?
Asked by: Ivan V.
The crop factor of the Micro 4/3 sensor would be 2X. With that being said, the focal length of a Canon EF-S 10-18mm would become 20-36mm.

question

How much does it add to the focal length of the adapted lens?
Asked by: SAl L.
The FotodioX Vizelex ND Throttle Adapter for Minolta MD Lenses to Sony E-Mount Cameras will not impact the effective focal length of the lens, nor will it act as an extension tube. The MD lenses are designed to sit further from the sensor than that of the E-mount lenses. So, the space the adapter puts between the E-mount and MD lens would simply seat the lens the correct distance from the sensor. That being said, even if the adapter sat the lens further from the sensor than it was designed (acted as an extension tube), this would not impact the focal length of the lens. It would increase the macro capability of the lens while also causing the lens to lose its ability to focus on subjects at a distance (infinity focus). Extension tubes are not the same as teleconverters.
