The black Onkyo PR-SC5530 11.2-Channel Network AV Controller is designed to a deliver a powerful processing performance to a connected stereo or multi-channel amplifier. Balanced XLR and RCA pre-outs are onboard for external amplifier connections. Integrated Dolby Atmos technology allows the controller to deliver enhanced multi-dimensional sound when used with compatible equipment such as front height speakers. Built-in high-resolution audio support allows you to take advantage of dynamic surround sound formats like DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD.
Built-in Bluetooth allows you to wirelessly connect to other Bluetooth-enabled audio sources such as computers, smartphones and tablets. Onboard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity gives you the ability to stream music from Internet radio sources and use DLNA technology to share content with compatible networked devices. Two Wi-Fi antennas are on the rear of the controller for optimized signal range.
The Onkyo PR-SC5530 has eight HDMI inputs for interfacing audio and video sources. There's also a USB port on the controller's front-panel for interfacing additional audio sources. This controller supports 3D and 4K video pass-through, and utilizes Qdeo technology to upscale lower resolution video sources to conform to 4K displays. Onkyo also offers a free remote app for controlling this device from a smartphone or tablet.
Dolby Atmos Multi-Dimensional Sound
Dolby Atmos uses object-oriented mixing to layer independent audio elements through discrete channels, moving three-dimensional sound effects around your listening environment. The format adapts to any home theater layout incorporating height channels for a more enveloping soundfield with accurate directional and overhead effects.
THX Ultra2 Plus for Reference-Level Sound
THX certification helps ensure the same high volume sound you experience in a commercial theater in your listening room. The PR-SC5530 controller passed more than 2,000 laboratory tests to ensure every aspect of audio performance meets the rigorous standards for theater-reference sound. THX Ultra2 Plus is recommended for screen-to-seat viewing distances greater
than 12' and for room volumes 3000 cubic feet or greater.
Engineered for High-Performance
At the heart of the PR-SC5530 is a large customized toroidal transformer supported by two separate EI transformers for A/V processing, which is controlled by dual 32-bit DSP engines. Digital-to-analog audio conversion comes courtesy of seven discrete 32-bit Burr-Brown DACs. From source device to output, audio and video signals are engineered to be kept clean and clear for optimal performance.
HDMI for 4K/60 Hz Video and HDCP 2.2
All of the controller's HDMI terminals support 4K video at 60 frames per second and 21:9 cinema aspect ratio. You can also add enveloping 11.2-channel surround sound to Ultra HD games and video for a robust entertainment experience. The PR-SC5530 also supports HDCP 2.2 DRM copy protection via HDMI Input 3 and the main output, which is essential for viewing premium streamed and broadcast Ultra HD content.
4K Video Upscaling and ISF Calibration
The PR-SC5530 includes Qdeo 4K upscaling technology, which converts low-resolution video
to 1080p (for a Full HD display) or 4K on compatible Ultra HD televisions. Selectable ISF video calibration further optimizes picture quality for enhanced images in bright or low-light conditions.
Three HDMI Outputs for Multizone Video
The Zone 2 HDMI output routes 1080p video from media players connected to your controller to a second TV. You can also control the zone from the Onkyo remote app control. The HDMI sub-out is ideal for connecting a projector.
Stream Music from Smartphone and Tablet
For lossless audio streaming, tap on the Onkyo Remote App icon on your smartphone or tablet to find your music with song organization and playback controls. You can also browse and stream from Spotify and Deezer (as well as internet radio services) from within the app, or
locate and stream your 192/24, 96/24, and 5.6 MHz DSD albums on NAS and PC via DLNA.
DTS Neo:X 11.1-Channel Upmixing
DTS Neo:X employs unique algorithms to upmix stereo or 5.1-channel soundtracks for playback through up to eleven channels. Selectable listening modes optimize frequency response for music, movies, and games with intelligent multiplexing technology, allowing you to enjoy balanced and immersive surround sound from regular stereo sources.
Wide Connectivity for All Your Components
The PR-SC5530 has both 11.4 multichannel pre-outs and balanced 11.4-channel XLR pre-outs to connect one or more multichannel and stereo power amplifiers. For robust bass performance, there are four parallel subwoofer pre-outs. This controller is also equipped with a phono input, six digital audio inputs and seven analog inputs, four composite video inputs (and a Zone 2 analog video out), and three 12V trigger outputs.
Multi-Zone Audio and Bi-Amping Capability
If a seven-channel home theater is enough for you, you can assign channels to send audio to two other rooms of your home. Select and play any audio you want in any zone using the free remote app. With a compatible amplifier, you can bi-amp compatible front loudspeakers for improved audio performance.
AccuEQ Room Calibration
AccuEQ measures and corrects speaker distances, levels, crossovers, and frequency response from one convenient listening position to ensure clear and cohesive surround-sound while
enabling playback of 7.1-channel formats at 96 kHz (no down-sampling). For optimized stereo performance, AccuEQ bypasses the front channels so the unique characteristics of your loudspeakers can be displayed without DSP correction to potentially alter the sound.
