Perform wet mount film scanning up to 5 x 9" with the Epson Fluid Mount for select photo scanners. This system allows for additional scratch and dust removal, grain reduction on black & white films as well as scanning alternative film formats and for the avoidance of newton rings.

Don't understand why Epson made this too small to cover 8x10" sheet film, but they did. The scanner does 8x10" in the regular (non wet mount) holder that comes with the scanner, so..? It's a great addition well worth getting, but maxes out at 5x7" or 2@ 4x5", annoyingly. Ps: for those struggling to get wet mount liquid: just use lighter fluid and mylar sheets from an art supply shop. It evaporated away the second you are finished. I've been scanning this way for 15+ years.
Originally I purchased this for scanning films at a higher resolution. Now that new Kodak films are using thinner substrates (including Portra and Ektar), I have to use this mount to scan Kodak color negatives. It's impossible to get those new negatives flat with regular film holders. You will be able to scan 2 sheets of 4x5 or 2 slices of 120 film (6 shots of 6x6) at a time.
