The 28" dodecagonal Speedbox Diffuser 70 from XP PhotoGear is a portable softbox that utilizes your speedlight flash unit to create softer, diffuse and evenly spread illumination. The lightweight and portable design of the softbox make it ideal for photographers on the go who want to create a versatile and flattering light from just a speedlight.

The included speed ring requires no additional adapters or hardware, the rods of the softbox slip into ports on the speed ring for easy set up and a sturdy construction. The adjustable speed light bracket moves in four directions to accommodate a wide variety of flashes as well as wireless triggering units. The curved grip allows the softbox to be easily moved for exacting light placement. A cold shoe mount, a 1/4"-20 thread and a standard 5/8" mount provide several support options for the softbox.

Speedbox Diffuser 70 (28" Dodecagon) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best shape for great eye relflections After buying 2 of the XP 24 hexagons which I use for fill and diffused light, I sometimes found that I wanted a less identifiable light source for reflections in eyes when doing close portraiture. When I use this outdoors with a full or half CTO the reflection and alight looks exactly like the sun as does the light. I like these boxes in general because they are well built and look very tight and professional. The light modification and evenness are incredible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well but could use some improvements Works very well and for the money it's a nice addition to my kit, but I wish the bracket that holds the speed light was metal rather than plastic. Feels like it may break over time. We'll see how it holds up to travel over the summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well made! I use it as part of a portable studio so it needs to pack and set up easy but more importantly it needs to do the job. It wins all around. It will take you maybe 15 minutes to assemble but after that the time to set it in the field is less than a half a minute. The initial assembly requires you to insert the 12 rods (2 spares provided) then attach small elastic loops. You'll need some dexterity or a 12 year old to do this part. After that you are done. You can leave both the inner and outer diffuses on too so it just requires you to snap in the stays and it's fully ready. The inside has no rods or spokes to mess up the light. Just a nice clean reflective surface. There is talk about it being hard to take down. Turn it light side down with just a small amount of even pressure and pop the two sets of latches at the same time and all 12 pop out easily and reliably. There was a You Tube video about it. Other things is the case is actually a nice case not just a rip stop nylon bag. You could add a s Speedlite and a set of triggers and be ready to go all the time. It's perhaps a little spendy but it is well made and nice to use. The bracket is fully adjustable and can fold flat contrary to other videos I saw. Outdoors you need to be really careful with wind. The box it structurally very stiff and can fly away. It won't bend in the wind if you can nail it down tight enough.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK But could be better Assembly and setup are not very difficult. You need a small hook tool to pickup the elastic and get it over the hook to secure the rods in place. When you close it by pinching the release pieces, all of the rods are not released. They hang up and that requires you to use a small flat object to push the locking piece back so the rod can collapse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good, but not quite great. Positives include: light weight and relatively easy to assemble. Negatives: once assembled, the release mechanism is very stiff and rather difficult to collapse. Overall, a decent product and generally worth the cost, but probably not rugged enough to weather long, sustained use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great speedbox!!! The speedbox works great! I like the images it makes. when assembling it, it would be good to have a few people help out because its a bit of a pain to put together for the first time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected! I purchased this Speedbox after reading many reviews and comparing different speedboxes of similar size and ultimately chose the XP Photogear Speedbox Diffuser 70 for the soft light I was looking for in portraits. I was concerned about the assembly and collapse of the speedbox from the reviews but found it to be no problem. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a diffuser of this size.
