Fun Gift

While it may not be the highest quality camera, it is super fun to give or receive as a gift for any film photographer lovers out there. Who doesn't want to build their own camera? I enjoyed the process of making it a lot and learned more in-depth about the basic of how a film camera operates.

Fun to build and a joy to shoot.

For what it is, it's a good value. It's easy to use, comfortable to hold and carry, and just a blast to experience. Get yourself some developing chemistry and play the back nice, too, for the full diy experience.

Fun Project ! This is a great gift to teach the kids how a camera works, and to get them started on shooting some film so they understand the basics of photography. It's best for an adult to help with the project as the directions are not that clear.

This is a fun way to learn the mechanics of an SLR film camera. Like LEGOs for grown-ups.

Just Won't Come Together

BH Sadly, as I attempted to put this camera together, I discovered that one key area was not fully created. The camera body is the product of plastic injection molding. Where you place the gears, to wind the film, one part is too short and not fully formed. This renders the camera body useless. Another drawback on this kit is the lack of any identifiers on the various screws. Two sets of screws are so close on size and look, but are different enough that they don't fit everywhere. This kit has now taken up residence in my junk drawer.
