Wooden Camera 183500 Overview

This Simple Canon EF Passive Mount Adapter for RED WEAPON, DRAGON, EPIC, and SCARLET Cameras from Wooden Camera replaces the original mount that came with your camera and allows you to mount you Canon EF lens on your camera.

The lens port is passive, which means that no electronic signals will pass from the camera to the lens or vice versa. This means that you will need to use lenses that allow for manual focus and iris control when using this lens port. A lens port cap is included.

This lens port mounts on your camera, flange focal distance (back focus) is adjusted in the camera.

doesnt fit nicely

The EF lens I mounted was super tight and at first felt impossible to attach or remove. There were small metal shavings inside so its not very safe for any of the components or for the sensor. Myself and another DP tried and we both found the that it was just super tight.

Will this work on Red One MX Camera Mysterium X with PL mount so I can use my canon EF L series lenses?

It is our understanding that all RED cameras that have an interchangeable lens mount (which includes the RED One) can use this adapter.

We see no reason it would not work on any version of the RED Scarlet.

Will this work on dsmc2 bodies?

Hello Lucas. Yes this mount is fully compatible with both DSMC1 and DSMC2 cameras from RED. However, please note that this is a Simple mount with no power or data pins. Therefore you will require a cinevised lens with an iris ring such as a Rokinon or modified Tokina from Duclos Lenses. L-series and other EF lenses that control iris electronically can still be mounted to this product, but all aperture changes would need to be made on a DSLR body, then the lens would be transferred to the mount retaining that aperture.
