Ke ler Crane CS1074 Overview

The Parralax from Kessler Crane provides automatic panning and fixed-point shooting capabilities to the Kessler line of sliders. The Parallax accomplishes inward and outward panning shots, providing users a second axis to their linear movements. The Kessler Parallax's non-intrusive design allows users to choose between automatic panning and standard linear sliding without removing the Parallax bar.

Note:
To mount Parallax and the Slider to the Hercules 2.0 Head, a Kwik Release with Slider plate is required.

To transport Parallax and Slider in a case without disassembling, the Parallax Soft Case is required.

Yes, it work as expected

I've used the Parallax for a few years on a 3' cineslider. Its smooth, and works best in the horizontal position (vertical I'm sure is fine, but you're limited on the load weight). The magic to this accessory is you can adjust the panning degree (or amount of panning over the 3' distance) to lock in the subject at just about any distance away from the subject, just by adjusting the guide rail angle. It's not rocket science to make this thing work correctly. I think the build quality is solid. I never had a problem with it. Its sweet spot for camera/lens size would be a built-out DSLR rig to a Cine camera set-up around the 10 to 12 pound load. Just a note: a lower profile fluid head to keep the center of gravity low is always helpful with CineSliders of this size.

Good idea, but underdeveloped

This peace of gear is a great idea, but is not yet ready to hit the market. The design needs to be perfected. I returned it to Kessler the next day. Problem is that it does not keep the camera trained on the subject the way it's supposed to. Instead, the subject is all over the place as the camera travels through the slider. Plus, this thing is waaaaaaay overpriced for what it is. Oh, and did I mention that it's way overpriced? I was ready to fork over the $$ though if it only worked as advertised, but as it is I would not use it even if it came with my slider for free. Wanted to give it 1 star because it is unusable for my purposes, but giving it a 2 because it is a great idea after all. Back to the drawing board, Kessler!
