I have a set on each of my cameras. Allows for moving cameras to slider to tripod to monopod with ease. The long plate is great with my FS7. It allows me to easily rebalance the camera depending on the lens being used.

The screws are removable. If you look at the slot the screws are in, you can see the opening where they can be removed.

Sorry, no. This is made to the Arca Swiss type plate standard which is unlike the Manfrotto 501PL standard.
