Capture images and video beneath the water's surface with your Nikon D3300 DSLR and 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens inside this Equinox Underwater Housing. It has a depth rating of 250'. The housing enables access to the important camera functions via mechanical controls, including On / Off, Shutter, Menu, Menu Select & Scroll, Set, Start / Stop, Mode, Manual Focus, Auto Focus, Manual Zoom, ISO, White Balance, and dials. The enclosure is equipped with a BRS / Ballast Release System, which serves two purposes: easy travel and fast transport to the surface. Simply pull on the quick release pin on one of the wings and the wing and ballast/handle are released; the housing now becomes positive in buoyancy and shoots to the surface.
The housing is made of a durable, thermal-based polyvinyl carbonate and features an integrated 4" dome port. Though the size and shape of the port and the overall length of the housing make the unit ideally suited to the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, it can fit various other lenses. It is neutrally buoyant, due in part to its 2 lb internal half-moon weight. A flash cannot be attached within the housing, as the space inside is too tight to fit one. If you wish to attach a strobe, you can do so using an optional external strobe connector, which can be added by sending your housing, along with the strobe(s) you wish to use, to Equinox for installation after purchase. You will need an optional sync cord in order to use a strobe.
