    Canon iP110 reviews

PIXMA iP110 Mobile Inkjet Photo Printer is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good reliable portable printer. I purchased the IP100 over 8 years ago, and I took it on all of my business travels, I bought the battery pack, and during my travel conferences, the fellow attendees where amazed that I could print the results of the conference or meeting during the conference and meeting. With the battery pack, I did not need to find an power outlet, and I could print up to 300 copies. The best part, is that it would survive plane trips in my suit case. After 7 years of reliable service, my IP100 failed. I purchased the IP110, and it has performed just like the IP100, and the battery pack fit the IP110, so I did not have to purchase a new battery pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent printer but difficult to set up The IP110 is a well built printer that produces excellent B&W and color prints on both plain and photo paper. Once set up correctly, it works wirelessly with all my printers, including my iPad and MacBook Pro. The instructions for setting up the wireless connection however are incomplete and confusing. One must search the online manual to learn that the wireless password is the serial number of the printer. I spent an hour trying to figure this out but once I did, the printer works perfectly. I like the size and ease of operation of this printer and think it is a good product at a very good price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won't Connect to Network Bought this from the Canon website. Have had a number of the ip90, ip100. ip110 series and liked them - fast, good print quality, and reliable. But this recent ip110 will not connect to a WiFi network and I am saying this as a reasonably experienced networking person. The network set-up mechanism is primitive and limiting. It should be possible to set-up the required network ID and IP address parameters via the USB. The Network Interface Tool crashes my Windows 8.1. Sorry to see the end of ip1xx series, but unless your purchase is for connection via USB to a single computer, avoid it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great size and value, but difficult setup Excellent print quality, light weight, and reasonable price (especially if you don't need the optional battery). However, wireless setup is quite challenging. If you are technically oriented, allow an hour to get basic wireless functionality working and another 1-2 hours to get everything (network and direct WiFi) working. If you don't like technical challenges, get help for the setup. Once it is set up, it works very well without further hassles. My only other problem was that the printhead appeared to be faulty (flashing alarm light), but Canon Customer Service helped me determine that it just wasn't seated firmly enough. The printer is so good once it's set up that I recommend it enthusiastically.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best little color printer! I've had this little printer for nine months. Took it to Mexico for 3 months last winter, which is the reason I bought it, to keep track of my graphs while day trading. It is not only perfect for on the road, but I have ended up using it at home instead of my more expensive Canon MG7120, which is also an excellent colour printer. The iP110 makes surprisingly good colour photo prints, but the reason I use it full time is because it is so frugal in its ink consumption, and ink is the most expensive part of owning a color printer. Buy it. It's worth the extra you'll pay for it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This printer is crippled by it's parts I have loved this printer. It is not fast but it is light and mobile. I have used it a year. I have replaced the color cartridge several times and the black cartridge twice. I treat this printer well. No storage in cold or hot. No banging it around. I ONLY use Canon cartridges. It lives in a nice case made just for it. The last black cartridge I bought peed all over the inside of the printer. This printer has a strip of foam under the heads. The foam and wheels are soaked and the printer is now smearing black ink across my prints rendering it utterly useless. Defective cartridge: yes. It is so inexpensive that I could just buy another printer but to lose this printer to a $20 cartridge really is off putting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from pulling my hair out just trying to set it up Unlike the iP100, which was a breeze to set up (more or less an ideal "plug and play" situation) this one is a real bear, to put it mildly. I am so frustrated trying to get the dang thing to work that I am ready to throw it out the window. All I want is to be able to print wirelessly some documents from my laptop computer. It was not this hard with the iP100, why so needlessly complex with the 110? You should not have to be the head of an IT department to set up an inkjet printer!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good print quality, extremely difficult installati I bought this to replace an earlier Canon portable printer and to get the wireless feature. The installation cartoon-instructions are no help whatsoever. After a whole evening of unsuccessful work, I had to take the printer and my ipad to a professional, and even then instructions were unclear and took some time. Works OK, but it is necessary to connect through the canon WiFi connection each time it is used. If I still used a laptop, the wire connection would be easier.
