This is a wonderful piece of gear. We use it for our robocam operator for live productions. He can see his robocams on his own multiviewer, then we use the active loop outs to go to the main switcher. The softwareto customize the Multiviewer is great as well. Highly recommend.

We use this product as a multi-viewer for remote tapings. The fact that is easily configurable makes it a great tool since we rarely use the same set-up. The USB download for controlling the unit is great and very easy to use.

This multi-viewer is perfect for it's features. The loop through of the inputs makes it better then the 16 input model and the 4 input model allowing you to preview camera shots or records and still feedback into your system. I use it in 6 way and 4 way output, but you can configure it in many different ways. it has a hdmi output for local monitor and two additional SDI outputs which you can then send to the Producer or whomever needs to see the MV. Highly recommend for your workbox.

i need to go from my macbook running obs via Thunderbolt 3 and have 3 outs. one too my teradeck bolt for livestream via hdmi, one too my led wall laptop via hdmi and one sdi to a projector. can this do that?
Asked by: Matthew
No the DMON-6S would not work for multiple splits, it combines multiple inputs into one screen. You could use an Apple HDMI adapter (APMUF82AMA), a 1 x 4 HDMI splitter (KASPHD1X44K) and a HDMI to SDI converter (BLCMCHS3WPSU) to connect to all three devices.

question

1. What happens when signal lost or disconnect one of the SDI input - does it show black on missing input or show some test patterns or solid color?2. Can we disable audio meters / file names / input names to have clean multi-view feed to monitor?
Asked by: Srikar
Got Answer from Chris.H (Thank you) B&H and Decimator The DMON-6S can be set up to either generate its own reference (free run) or use one of the inputs as a reference. If its set up to use free run or an input other than the one thats pulled then it will continue to show an output with just that window showing its background colour. The background colour can be selected in the USB Control Panel software, available free of charge for Windows and Mac. For the application your customer has described I would recommend setting it up so that Reference is set to Free Run nd background colour is set to black. You can remove all in picture overlays (audio meters, graticules, UMDs and status displays) from the multi-view output to show just the input sources.
