The 45° Offset Weaver/Picatinny Mount from Firefield is designed to move sights and accessories away from the center-line of your long-gun to prevent interference with other scopes or sights. A typical use for this rail is to have a long-distance riflescope mounted conventionally, and a smaller close-to-mid range dot-sight mounted 45° on the offset rail. This dual-mount configuration allows for fast transition from near to far sighting by simply canting the rifle slightly without altering your basic shooting stance - ideal for 3-gun competition shooting. Other uses include mounting lasers, lights, or IR illuminators without interference with sights and scopes. Made of an aluminum alloy with a matte black anodized finish, the 2.17" (5.5cm) long rail can mount on either side of the rifle's primary rail and fastens with two Allen bolts.

Firefield FF34009 Reviews
Fit perfectly to my Hammerli Tac R1 top rail
Seems to lock into place easily and supports my o-light rail mounted light. Holds the light nice and close to the scope POV without obscuring the reticle view.
Dimensions out of Tolerance
I tried to mount a sight to this and the sight was loose in the mount, so I looked up MIL STD 1913 for the dimensions of a Picatinny rail. I measured the width of this mount and found it to be out of tolerance, then measured the depth of the slots (all measurements were made with a micrometer caliper) and found the slots to be too shallow. Also, this mount has a fully-threaded set screw that fits in the Picatinny rail slot, and not the flat-bottomed shaft which I have seen on other mounts. I am returning it for a refund. As a note, I would never hesitate to deal with B&H, in spite of this. I have dealt with them for over 20 years and have nothing but good things to say about them.
