I purchased this lens cap as a backup for my Zeiss Batis 18mm lens. These lens caps are not my favorite as they tend to come off easily since the sides of the moveable pinch plates are not tapered like the Sony alternative and lack a snug fit. The Zeiss front lens caps also do not secure very well on low-profile lens filters such as the B+W XS-Pro or Hoya Pro1 Digital filters and work best on the higher profile (thicker) Zeiss T* filters. However, if you exercise a little caution in storage and travel, you can make them work. It's puzzling that Zeiss can make such a spectacular lens, but fall short in something as simple as a lens cap. I can only recommend this overpriced accessory to someone as vain as I am about preferring the little blue Zeiss logo cap and keeping my equipment original, as opposed to the better performing and less expensive Sony alternative.

Yes Sony-Zeiss SAL2470Z is also 77mm filter thread so ZEISS 77mm Front Lens Cap for Otus 55mm f/1.4 should also work.

Does this lens cap fit the Zeiss 55 1.8 ? I lost mine..
The zeiss t fe sonnar 55 Mm lens lists 49 mm thread so if that is your lens it won't fit since the otus uses a 77 mm thread.
