is it fully metal? I had a Hama product with a similar design and the hinge part is plastic and so it is hard to lock it fully into a stable position.
Kaiser Folding Metal "L" Flash Bracket with Hand Strap is plastic design. The only metal parts are the cold shoe, screws and threads. However if you have a similar model and you tide the screw below the hand grip and the hing is not stable, this unit may be broken or deffective.
