The UltraClamp 2.5 from Pedco allows a camera to be solidly attached to a bicycle handlebar, picnic table, or other similar sized object. Strong enough to support most cameras, spotting scopes, and camcorders, the UltraClamp 2.5 attaches to round or flat objects from 1" to 2.5" thick. It utilizes a ball and socket mount with 1/4"-20 screw to allow the camera maximum flexibility in framing the subject.

Disappointing

I have been searching for something to hold my 7 Delvcam monitor when I shoot video. I had an Ultraclamp before, and thought I was buying the exact same kind again, but I guess it wasn't a 2.5. The problem with the old one was that the threads were eventually stripped bare, so that it became increasingly difficult to mount the monitor on the clamp and eventually impossible. Not sure if blame for the thread-stripping belongs to the clamp or the monitor. Anyway, this replacement arrived, and no matter how hard I screw it on to my tripod, the weight of the monitor pulls the whole thing forward and threatens to fall off. The old one would have this problem once in a while, but tightening always fixed it. Same company, slightly different design but basically the same idea, I've been using it barely a week and I've already placed an order for something else (an entirely different product and more expensive). So this was a waste of money.

Can it hold a Sony HXR-NX100 video camera?

I would only use for very small cameras. GoPro or Micro 4/3'rds
