LanParte makes very high quality products, and this gear ring is no exception. I own two of these and their follow focus unit. The precision and quality is second to none!
I have a very wide pancake lens that was difficult to manually focus without seeing my fingers in the shot (Video), so I bought this adjustable gear ring to give me a little more leverage. Now, not only are my fat fingers not at the edges of the shot, but I can focus with one finger. It was very easy to secure, and I cut the excess off with a hobby knife. It hasn't slipped yet and it's on there pretty darn tight. High suggest this thing for what I used it for. Can't speak to using it with a follow focus 'though.
