Revo RS-1200 overview

  • 1Description

The Revo 47" Camera Track Slider with Adjustable Feet is a sturdy, lightweight, and portable camera slider that lets you to add smooth, short-run tracking- and dolly-type shots to your video productions. It features an aluminum construction and precision-engineered rails that provide smooth and quiet travel across the entire length, supporting rigs up to 11 pounds. The slider comes with a pair of removable legs for ground or table-top mounting, with height-adjustable rubber feet. The legs attach via thumbscrews for tool-less assembly. Combined with an integrated bull's-eye bubble level, the slider is easy to level even on flat or slightly uneven surfaces.

Three 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded screw-holes are positioned along the bottom, letting you center-mount the slider on a single tripod, or mount it between two tripods for increased stability. The carriage has removable 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screws for attaching a camera or fluid head, and is itself removable so that you can comfortably attach a camera or tripod head. It also has one 1/4"-20 thread on each top corner so that in addition to a camera you can mount articulating arms with lights and other accessories. A knob on the side of the carriage tightens to keep the carriage locked in place in-between shots.

47" Camera Track Slider with Adjustable Feet is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for For the price, it's not a bad slide at all. It handles it's weight limit perfectly fine, sets up easily, and glides left to right with ease. The mounting plate is a bit odd because it's threaded, which can make mounting the camera a bit of a hassle. Over all, like anything, you get what you pay for. Pros: - not bad for the cost - construction is nice and strong - slides well when within weight limit Cons: - doesn't do well when at weight limit - the actual mounting block is threaded - minor vibrations when moving - can be a bit cumbersome

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works pretty well... This slider works pretty well, but I recommend using a lubricant on the rail for easier sliding. I used an industrial silicon lubricant and just wiped it on very thin and it made a noticeable difference. It prevented the carriage from sticking in mid-slide. One thing I also found helpful for a smoother sliding action was to use a rubber band to pull the carriage across, while creating back pressure with one of my other fingers to stabilize the pulling action of the rubber band (so it wouldn't be a warbly start-stop-start-stop kind of motion). I gave this 4 stars because unlike the shorter slider models, the feet for this slider are plastic instead of rubber. So if you plan on setting the slider on a table then you may need to find a way to attach rubber feet to keep the slider from sliding while you're sliding your camera. :) I used rubber tips that I secured to the feet with rubber bands, wrapping the rubber bands around the frame to hold the rubber tips on. As it turns out, my slider work was done using either a tripod or two light stands that screwed into the threaded holes in the rail itself, so I haven't yet used it on a table. One plus about this slider is that there are multiple threaded holes you can use, so if you need more support for the weight of your rig (i.e. to keep the slider from bowing in the middle when you slide it across), you can mount light stands closer to the middle of the rail. There are 4 hole positions per side, in addition to the mount holes for the legs on the ends.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned this bad boy asap To be fair at that price point I shouldn't have such high hopes. The pay load is way over for any kind of smooth motion. I tried it with my 5Dmrk2, on the plate directly and using 2 diff heads and got all sorts of stuttering in the motion. Again the price point is really low and the components really solid. I've returned it and got some advice form the B&H peeps and will invest more for something better

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Snags and jitters. I give this slider 3 stars only because of it's cheap price tag. A note to potential buyers, this rail system doesn't us wheels or bearings. I've tried it with many different cameras and even oiled the rail. It snags and tugs all the way across the rail unless you have a super stead hand and press from the center side of your camera. Good for beginners I guess, but this is not a professional product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fine This is my first slider. It seems well constructed and sturdy. It slides smooth, but still makes me wish it used ball bearings. If you set it on a tripod at the center point you'll get some wobble, so be careful how you set up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of the most affordable long slider It has very light sound when sliding and with some lubricate it worked just fine

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for! It slides very smoothly with no problems and the quality of construction and durability is great.
