Expensive but worth it

I had to go through 2 adapters (K&F and Urth) before finally settling on Novoflex. It's more expensive but the attachment is rock-solid, no slop or wobble. You get what you pay for. Case in point.

While overpriced (though they know their target audience will pay), it works perfectly well. L mount is typically the most expensive mount to adapt to. However, on full Frame L mount Cameras (SL or Panasonic S1) the lip doesn't completely cover the metal mount bevel. It is completely sealed off, but there is about 1-2mm of the exposed metal mount which is typically covered by native L mount lenses. This is the only downside but it merely an aesthetic critique.

Will this adapter work for both type 1 and type 2 ...
Will this adapter work for both type 1 and type 2 M42 mounts or is this not an issue with the Leica SL mount?

Does this work with the new Leica CL?
Yes works fine with the CL. Need to set your lens to fully manual aperture mode (auto close down of aperture doesn't work as there is no electronic connection between the lens and camera. I have used with an old M42 Pentacon 50mm f1.8 lens. The only thing I couldn't get to work was magnification of the image for focusing. But if focusing wide open you don't need this as the EVF is good enough. If this is important get a Leica M to TL adapter and then add a M42 to Leica M adapter. The camera recognises the Leica branded M adapter and enables magnification. Downside is you have to buy two adapters.
