The AS7012RD 12-Bay Enterprise NAS Server from Asustor is a high performance network storage solution that helps to effectively simplify data management. It is also optimized for virtual environments and offers bulletproof protection for critical digital assets. Its Enterprise features are built into the hardware design, making it a well suited choice for growing businesses. The AS7012RD has 12 drive bays, each of which natively supports 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s and SATA II 3 Gb/s hard drives and SSDs.
The AS7012RD is powered by a 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 Dual-Core processor, which will allow you to run multiple functions simultaneously. The built-in 4GB of UDIMM DDR3 RAM will allow quick access to frequently-used files and programs. Network connectivity is achieved via the 4 x Gigabit Ethernet ports and there are also 2 x expansion ports that can accommodate 10GbE and SAS cards, while external peripherals may be connected using the 4 x USB 3.0 ports and 2 x eSATA ports. Additionally, there is 1 x HDMI 1.4a output for connecting this NAS to HDMI-compatible devices.
Asustor ships the AS7012RD with the ADM 2.0 operating system, which helps simplify managing your NAS, as well as accessing and sharing data. Asustor also lets users download and install add-on packages that are designed for individual or business needs. A variety of RAID modes are supported, which help provide users with data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. Supported RAID modes include RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, JBOD, and Single Disk.
For those who use virtual environments such as VMware, Citrix, and Hyper-V, the AS7012RD provides cross-platform file sharing, allowing you to easily connect to your NAS device if you are using Windows, Mac OS, UNIX, Linux, or BSD. Using backup utilities such as Backup Plan and Apple Time Machine you can easily backup data from a Windows PC or Mac directly onto NAS server. A Network Recycle Bin helps restore virtually any accidentally deleted files, while there is also supports for iSCSI, NFS, Windows ACL and Windows AD infrastructure, and SMB 2.0.
The AS7012RD operates on 100-240 VAC and includes an AC power cord, 4 x RJ-45 LAN (Cat 5e) cables, 48 x flat head screws (for 3.5" HDDs), and 48 x flat head screws (for 2.5" HDDs).

Data Transfer Performance
ADM 2.3 supports SMB 2.0, which helps reduce the burden of network traffic on the NAS while simultaneously providing a greater data transfer capacity. SMB 2.0 has the capability to increase Windows networking performance and can also increases the number of concurrent Windows client connections. Cooling Design
