The Active TA500 Arrayable 3-Way 15" Full Range Loudspeaker from Turbosound is an arrayable trapezoidal switchable bi-amp/tri-amp three way full range loudspeaker designed for a wide range of fixed installations.
The TA500 consists of a high efficiency 15" low frequency driver, a custom high efficiency neodymium motor 10" drive unit on a Polyhorn device optimized for mid frequencies, and an aluminum dome 1" neodymium motor high frequency compression driver loaded by a high frequency Polyhorn device. The low distortion Polyhorn designs feature a sharp cut-off at the edges of the 50° horizontal by 25° vertical coverage pattern.
The TA500 includes a passive crossover network between the MF and HF drive units for bi-amped operation which can be bypassed for full tri-amped operation by moving an internal jumper. The 15 mm (5/8") birch plywood cabinet with is trapezoidally shaped with side angles optimized for close packing, and is finished in hard wearing semi matte black paint with an architecturally styled powder coated perforated steel mesh grille. An optional removable, stackable wheelboard clips on to the front of the cabinet for transportation.
M10 rigging points are provided on the top, bottom and sides of the cabinet for suspension in any orientation, and two further rigging points are provided on the rear for pull back. A cost-effective external flying system consists of internal steel struts which are used in conjunction with lifting bars, hinge kits and rear straps to assemble simple two-wide and three-wide arrays of cabinets. A recessed panel at the rear of the cabinet carries two parallel-linked Neutrik speakON NL8s for input and link through connections, with a further Neutrik speakON NL4 which is used for the sub link-out connection.
