Remotely control your home's temperature from the convenience of your Android or iOS smartphone with Honeywell's Lyric Wi-Fi Thermostat. The Lyric features a 3" glass LCD screen that displays your home's temperature and your local weather forecast any time you tap its weather icon. Above the main round display is another arc-style display that indicates if the thermostat is in heating or cooling mode as well as the temperature the Lyric is trying to reach. When cooling, the thermostat casts a blue light; and when heating, it gives off a golden-amber glow. Furthermore, the Lyric gives you the ability to manually adjust your home's temperature simply by turning its outer chrome ring. There's also a convenient Away mode button on your thermostat that will return to the pre-programmed temperature you programmed during the initial set up.

The Lyric comes with a plethora of smart home automation features, one of which is Geofencing that will sense when you are arriving home or leaving for work and will automatically begin adjusting heating or cooling to meet your preset temperature preferences. Furthermore, the Geofencing feature can be set to 500' or 7 miles. Once you cross the geofence's perimeter, the Lyric will begin heating or cooling to your preset Home mode settings. Also, to help conserve energy, the Lyric will automatically switch to Away mode anytime you leave home with your smartphone. Along with the Lyric, a wall plate, back plate, and mounting screws are included to facilitate setup and installation. Please note that a lithium AAA battery is required for operation and will provide approximately 1-year of battery life before needing to be changed.

Attractive and Contemporary Design
The Honeywell Lyric is a white, round thermostat surrounded by a thin chrome ring. In the center of the Lyric is the display screen that indicates the temperature. Just above the main display is an arc-style digital display that indicates if the thermostat is heating or cooling as well as the temperature it is trying to reach. To the left of the arc is a weather icon that shows your area's local forecast in the main round display when pressed. There is also an Away mode button on the right of the thermostat.
Fine Tune
The Fine Tune feature is automatically activated when you set up your Lyric smart thermostat. It takes into account your home's indoor temperature, humidity as well as outdoor weather conditions to ensure that your environment will feel like the desired temperature. For instance, if you've set the thermostat to 72 degrees, and the humidity is 90%, the Lyric will make fine tune adjustments so that you're comfortable in your own home. If you don't want to use the Fine Tune feature you can easily disable it using the Lyric app downloaded to your Android or iOS smartphone.
Geofencing
When you enable Geofencing, the Lyric thermostat will automatically adjust based on your smartphone's location. For instance, if you leave work and have set your "Arrive Home" temperature to 68 degrees, the Lyric will communicate with your heating and cooling system to meet your desired temperature. Also, you can manually tap the Lyric's Away button as you're leaving home to set the temperature while you're gone. So even if you've forgotten to lower the temperature on a hot summer day, you can begin to remotely cool your home from the convenience of your smartphone.
Shortcuts
Shortcuts allow you to customize heating and cooling situations. Whether you're working out in your living room or home gym or are leaving to pick up the kids from school or are going on a weekend trip, you can preset temperatures for unique situations and save shortcuts that you really like and access them from the Lyric app at any time.
Alerts
The Lyric thermostat sends alerts directly to your smartphone in case of extreme temperature or irregularities in your heating and cooling system. With the Alerts feature you can stay comfortably connected even when you're away.
Monitoring
The Lyric thermostat monitors your system to ensure you don't get any unwanted surprises-like a winter furnace failure. It also gives you the flexibility to locate a heating and cooling technician who can view and diagnose your system remotely.
Reminders
The Lyrics sends you a reminder when it's time to change your HVAC filter.
The Free Lyric App
Before installing the smart thermostat, download the free Lyric app. Next, mount the Lyric's base plate to the wall, connect the appropriate wires and snap on the front-facing plate to the base plate. Unlike other comparable automated thermostats, the Lyric does not require a C-wire to operate. Also, there are plenty of how-to videos on YouTube and Honeywell's site to walk you through the installation and setup process.

After you've downloaded the Lyric app on your smartphone, you can then easily connect the thermostat to your phone via Wi-Fi. Using the app, you can configure the Lyric to detect the type of heating and cooling system in your home, customize desired temperature schedules, and add your location for local weather forecasts.
Battery Type/Life
The Lyric requires a lithium AAA battery to operate and can last for up to year depending on the power requirements of your heating or cooling system. Also, please note that a lithium battery is not included with the thermostat.
Wi-Fi Connectivity and Configuration
Download the free Lyric app on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. Switch off the power to your heating and/or cooling system at the circuit breaker box or at the system switch or on your heating and/or cooling unit. After connecting your wiring, attach the thermostat by gently pressing it to the wall plate. Turn the power to your unit back on. Your thermostat will light up while it starts up and can take up to 3 minutes to display a unique network name, such as, Lyric Stat 03.

When you see the unique network name, touch "OK" to begin your thermostat configuration. Go to the Lyric app to see how to configure and personalize your Lyric thermostat. To connect your iOS smartphone or tablet to the thermostat network, leave the Lyric app, go to your iOS settings, and view your Wi-Fi networks. Find and connect to the thermostat's unique network, for example, Lyric Stat 03. Close your iOS settings and return to the Lyric app to complete the setup process.

If you have an Android smartphone or tablet, the Lyric app will automatically connect to your thermostat.
Loss in Wi-Fi Connection
The Lyric will continue to operate your HVAC system even when your Wi-Fi network is down. However, some features, (such as shortcuts, geofencing, and humidity levels) that are only managed through the Lyric app, will not function while the Wi-Fi connection is disrupted, but you will still be able to manually adjust your temperature settings directly from the thermostat. The Lyric will automatically reconnect to your Wi-Fi when the network is restored.
HVAC Compatibility
The Lyric thermostat is designed to work on most 24V low voltage heating and cooling systems such as gas and oil furnaces, heat pumps, and hot water systems. The thermostat can also support multi-stage systems with more than one stage of heating and cooling. The Lyric thermostat does not work support 110 V or higher line voltage systems, such as electric baseboard heaters.
