The black Sony Alpha a5100 Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit with Black 16-50mm and 55-210mm Lenses from B&H puts together this compact and versatile mirrorless camera with two zoom lenses for comprehensive wide-angle to telephoto focal length perspectives.
The a5100 pairs a 24.3MP APS-C-sized Exmor HD CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor enabling up to 6 fps continuous shooting with notable sensitivity to ISO 25600. Full HD video recording is supported in the high-quality XAVC S codec, with the ability to shoot at 1080p in 60, 30, or 24 fps frame rates. Complementing the multimedia imaging capabilities is the Fast Hybrid AF system, which pairs 179 phase-detection points with 25 contrast-detection points to deliver fast, accurate, and consistent focusing abilities.
The a5100 provides a 3.0" 921.6k-dot LCD monitor, which features a 180° upward tilting design to permit easier viewing from both front-facing and low angles. Furthermore, the LCD is also a touchscreen offering intuitive control over image playback and menu navigation, as well as shutter release and touch-focus for pinpoint accuracy. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, with support for NFC-enabled devices, is also integrated into the a5100 to support remote camera control and image sharing to linked mobile devices.
Compatible with all E-mount lenses, this kit includes the 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Retractable Zoom Lens, which provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 24-75mm for wide-angle to portrait length perspectives. Optical SteadyShot image stabilization reduces the blur caused by camera shake and Power Zoom enables electronic zoom control from the camera body. One extra-low dispersion element and four aspherical elements reduce chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range and contribute to overall sharpness.
Also included is the 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS E-Mount lens which provides the 35mm focal length equivalence of 82.5-315mm for portrait length to super telephoto perspectives. It too offers Optical SteadyShot image stabilization which is particularly helpful when shooting at long telephoto lengths. A zoom lever allows greater control over the zoom speed and an internal AF drive utilizing a linear motor and aspherical focus lens achieve smooth focus while minimizing mechanical noise. Both features are useful when shooting video. Two extra-low dispersion glass elements and an aspherical focus lens reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range.
