Sony LCSELCB/B overview

  • 1Description

This black Sony Soft Carrying Case is constructed from leather and provides protection with a dedicated fit for a Sony Alpha a7II Mirrorless Digital Camera with a Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens or a Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens attached.

The case is comprised of two parts and installs onto your camera by first screwing a bottom jacket into the camera's tripod mount using a built-in D-ring. A top cover which is designed to encase the front, top, and back of the camera along with the camera's attached lens can then snap onto the bottom jacket. A neck strap attached to the camera remains usable even when the top cover is connected. When you wish to use your Sony Alpha a7II after installing this case, it is only necessary to remove the top cover. The bottom jacket does not block the lens and provides access to the camera's battery compartment, memory card slot, as well as its HDMI and multi-interface terminals.

Sony Alpha's wireless communication abilities are maintained while using this case and the bottom jacket features its own 1/4"-20 threads so that it can remain on the camera while you use a tripod.

    Sony LCSELCB/B reviews

Soft Carrying Case for Alpha a7 II, a7R II, & a7S II Mirrorless Digital Camera and Select Lenses (Black) is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well made and elegant design, but limited usefulness In my instance, this was a freebie with my order of the Sony A7Rii. This is a nice, well made case that might work well in some circumstances. But, honestly, the only time I could foresee using it would be a trip where I wanted to take only my camera, one lens, a couple of batteries and a charger, and wanted to travel light without a camera bag and just the case for protection. The case will fit my A7ii or A7Rii with any lens as long as or shorter than the Sony-Zeiss 35mm F/1.4, the 16-35mm F/4, or the 24-70mm F/4, none of which I own. For small lenses like the 35mm F/2.8, the 28mm F/2 and even the 55mm F/1.8, which I do own, it's overkill. Also it will not accommodate my Sony 90mm macro lens.If it wasn't free, I probably wouldn't have bought this item. Personally, I prefer the $ Op/Tech Neoprene soft universal cases, of which I have two, one with a standard snout and one with an extended, telephoto snout. Since I use L brackets, the full size DSLR model with the extended telephoto snout, works really well and will accommodate the 90mm F/2.8 G Macro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way better than the old A7 case The old A7 leather case was a disaster - you can't even take the card without taking out the case. This one is well though: you have access to the battery and the card, it's a little softer inside to protect the lens better, and the screw isn't sticking out at the bottom so you can put the camera on a flat surface no problem. I wish Sony would also include a leather strap along with the case.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sony Alpha a7ii soft carry case This case is not very functional, the lower portion is ok but provides little protection, mainly protecting the bottom plate from scratches if used on a tripod, it does provide some good grip when used without the top and lens cover portions of the case. The upper portion is hard to use, does not attach securely, only 2 snaps on the bottom of the case that are not very secure, is hard to get over a lens, becomes detached and dropped when trying to use the camera with the upper portion rotated around out of the way to allow taking pictures, easily dropped and is bulky, not handy to put into a pocket as the lens cover is bulky and not flexible at all, this is not a soft case in my opinion. Love the Camera I am using it with my Leica R lenses and getting the high quality photos I experienced on the Leica bodies with film. Jim

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not fit my camera with lens. This case does not fit the a7r ii with the FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Lens so I could not use it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I only use the bottom half I received this for free when i bought the camera. Sometimes I use it when I have my Zeiss 35mm 1.4 lens attached and it barely fits with that big lens on. However, if you keep the body covering on, then you can't keep any other kind of quick release gear attached to the bottom plate of the camera, which I often do. However, since getting this case, I have kept the half case (bottom portion) on the camera at all times. It adds an extra layer of protection and it doesn't interfer with changing the battery or switching out SD cards. There is also a 1/4'' screw hole to add the third party accessories too. I use a Spider Camera plate (B&H # SP155) and it works very nicely. But while that is attached, it's impossible to attach the top portion of the Carrying case. Nevertheless, if you were to buy a half case from anywhere else, you'd be paying the same price for just half a case, where-as with this, you get a complete case, which is perfect for traveling and if you have only one lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does not fit zeiss 35mm 1.4. I would not buy if it didn't come with it. It is nice fake leather but is not very useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great extra as part of the A7S ii bundle. Great carrying case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lens problems The case itself is fine but I purchased the 2.8 lens. Just know this case will not fit your camera if you have this lens, not the f4. Have to return it but my own fault for not checking the specs!
