This Wooden Camera E-Mount to PL-Mount Adapter for Sony FS7 adapts the E-mount on your FS7 camera to ARRI PL, which allows you to mount available PL mount lenses on your camera. It features a support brace that attaches to your camera by interfacing with an optional Wooden Camera FS7 top plate. This Wooden Camera E-Mount to PL-Mount Adapter for Sony FS7 adapts the E-mount on your FS7 camera to ARRI PL, which allows you to mount available PL mount lenses on your camera. It features a support brace that attaches to your camera by interfacing with an optional Wooden Camera FS7 top plate. Once mounted to the optional FS7 top plate, the support brace relieves the strain of supporting the lens on the mount alone. The unit includes a set of shims to adjust your flange focal distance if necessary and a PL lens port cap to keep your sensor dust free when no lens is attached. Please note that you are able to use the PL adapter on a variety of E-mount cameras; however, the support ring would not provide any support and would not need to be attached.

The support brace attaches to an optional, but highly recommended, Wooden camera FS7 top plate that you attach to your camera. This support allows you to mount large lenses without stressing your camera's lens mount.
The adapter's flange distance is set at the factory to match that of an FS7 camera; however, you may need to shim your adapter to adjust if your camera is out of calibration.

This works great for the Sony FS7. I had one made by another manufacturer, which I guess I can't name, but it was red and black, and it was a royal pain in the you know what. Had to send it back 2 times in 1 year. Sold it and go this one. This Wooden adapter is simple, reliable and actually costs less. I love it!

Yes it will. Please note however that supporting from the top via the ring is not possible. A 1/4"-20 support foot is provided for support from the bottom when using the mount on the mk2.

I returned it because it wasn't machined very well. It also wouldn't mount several PL lenses. I ended up going with the mount from Hot Rock Cameras and it's great.

The Sony FS-7 has a Super35 sensor. The PL lens mount was developed for film cameras with Super35 apertures. So among PL mounted lenses and cameras, there is no change in the field of view or magnification. As near as I know, there is no full frame PL mount camera so you will never see a difference among PL mount Super35 cameras while using PL mount lenses. (An exception of course is if you go to a camera with a PL mount but with a smaller sensor than Super35.)I strongly suggest that using crop factor or lens magnification as tools be dropped. Just learn what the wide-normal-tele lens mm's are for each camera you are using. For me it makes no sense wasting time calculating for a format you are not using.

Will this work with the Sony A7S?

This will mount to a a7s since that camera has a E mount. You would have to support the lens to the tripod and then mount the camera to the lens for the E mount of the a7s will not be strong enough to hold many PL mount lenses. Your next consideration is whether the PL mount lens will cover the a7s's Full Frame. PL mount lenses traditionally were only required to cover the Super35/APS-C frame. Lenses longer than 35mm should be no problem. Under 35mm you may experience vignetting.
