The D-Tap to Sony A7 Series Power Cable from Wooden Camera is a dummy battery which allows you to power a Sony A7 series camera that requires an NP-FW50 battery using a V-Mount or Gold Mount battery with a D-Tap plug. The voltage converter box mid cable adapts 14.8V to standard 7.4V required by the camera.

Is it safe to leave this dummy battery connected to your camera and gold mount battery when not in use?

While there is no immediate issue with leaving the device plugged in, please note that this does continue to provide power to the in-line regulator. As with any electronic device, unnecessary prolonged use during inactive periods may reduce the overall lifespan of the device.
