This stereo headset uses an in-line mixer to deliver two audio streams at once, with each channel's volume level adjusted to your liking. Mixer
The RIG's in-line mixer provides master volume control as well as volume control over each individual channel. A paddle switch lets you toggle between in-game chat and calls on your mobile phone. The individual volume sliders allow you to adjust your chat and in-game audio independently, so you can tailor the experience to your preferences. The top of the mixer also features three buttons, one for answering and hanging up calls, one for muting the microphone, and one to change equalizer presets.
The RIG Mixer isn't limited to switching between game and cellular chat. Connect the mobile cable's 3.5mm plug to your phone, laptop, or tablet to listen to music, video chat, and more. Or, use Combo Chat mode to listen to your mobile device, game audio, and game chat simultaneously while using the rocker to switch your own voice between mobile and game chat. Microphones
The RIG comes with two microphones, one boom mic and one in-line "stealth" mic. The high-fidelity, noise-canceling boom mic, recommended for gaming and home use, attaches via a 3.5mm plug to the left ear cup. The in-line mic attaches the same way and is recommended for connecting directly to a mobile device while on the go. It has a built-in button for answering or hanging up calls and a mute switch. The call button also functions as a play/pause and track forward/back control with most mobile devices.
Connectivity
The Plantronics RIG can be connected to a multitude of different devices. It comes with an Xbox Live chat cable for use with Xbox, a USB cable for connection with computers and consoles, and two 3.5mm audio cables for use with mobile devices, game consoles, and computers. The mixer also sports an optical port for use with optical cables (sold separately). It also comes with a 3.5mm to RCA piggyback adapter for use with RCA audio sources.
