BenQ Proprietary Flicker-Free Technology
This BL Series monitor has been upgraded with the incorporation of BenQ's proprietary Flicker-free Technology to eliminate backlight flickering at all brightness levels and effectively reduce eye fatigue. Conventional LCD screens flickers 200 times per second. The flickers may not be detectable by your eyes but they can certainly feel the flickering. So it is important to relieve your eyes from the stress caused by a flickering screen - and keep them nice and fresh when you are working on new designs.
Exclusive Low Blue Light Modes
Every monitor produces a strain of blue spectrum light that is harmful to the human eye, with the possibility of leading to eye damage, eyestrain, headaches and sleeping disorders. To reduce blue light exposure and allow a healthier time spent in front of the computer, BenQ introduces four preset Low Blue Light Modes via its exclusive Low Blue Light technology. Accessible from the OSD hot key, the Low Blue Light Modes include:
• Multimedia Mode (30% Blue Light Reduction) to maintain the highest image quality and sufficient blue light reduction while displaying photos, videos, animation, and other media.
• Web-surfing Mode (50% Blue Light Reduction) to optimize the experience of reading webpages.
• Office Mode (60% Blue Light Reduction) to ensure better eye health and comfort while boosting productivity for word processing, emailing, and other everyday office tasks.
• Reading Mode (70% Blue Light Reduction) to simulate the look of real paper for ebooks, long documents, or any other type of reading material that requires the user's full attention for long periods of time.

    BenQ BL2711U reviews

    BL2711U 27" 16:9 4K UHD IPS Monitor is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning Performance!! Absolutely in love with this monitor!! Powered by a 13 MacBookPro via Thunderbolt, the 4K performance and display on this is beautiful. Editing photos and video on this display is an absolute pleasure. Great color reproduction, amazingly sharp and detailed images, this is exactly why I upgraded to a large 4K screen and could not be happier with it. I have used the low blue light a little when just surfing the net, but the majority of time, I'm editing and need full RGB spectrum for accuracy. The built in speakers are a nice touch, but lack much bass or depth, so I don't use them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent. it Just works Thought a lot about a 27" or 32". But when reading post, just figured out that 32" will stress your neck looking up to the top of the screen. Also worried about having a 5 meter long DP cable but it works flawlessly. Found it also has audio via the DP port to it's internal speakers/ headphone output, that is a plus. No dead/defect pixels or anything. It's made by Benq (A Taiwanese company) but surprisingly when trying to buy it there it was not available for sale in that market. Real pity because it's great value for the money. Maybe it's not for high speed gaming but then you probably will spend more on a monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice monitor, excellent for photo processing I use the monitor as my primary, but the reason for a better quality one is for post-processing photographic images. For that it's excellent. Setup was a bit picky and took a while. The cables which came with it are all 5 feet long, which was insufficient for my application, so I had to acquire a longer one. And a strange thing occurred once; when returning from hibernation of the computer the monitor refused to 'see' the computer. I couldn't turn it off with the front switch, but there's a physical switch on back by the power cable connector which I used to reboot the monitor, and that resolved the issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for. This monitor's picture quality exceeded my expectations. Comparing to my previous Dell monitors there is no annoying backlight irregularity. For me, it is very convenient to use two open windows side by side. For example to watch tutorial and follow instructions at the same time. It has a light dim function and it also can make a warmer picture (nightshift) in evening automatically. One weird thing about it. There is a distance meter to detect a user and save power. But even if I set desired distance to 'far' it is still less than my usual position in front of the monitor. Maybe it could be solved with the firmware...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor I purchased this monitor for eye care and photography. I find the blue light and flicker features notable. Customization buttons are easy and convenient. Colors and resolution are great for photo editing; however, I am not a professional, so I cannot provide expert commentary on this. You will need a graphics card commensurate with the performance of this monitor in order to maximize and appreciate its potential. Great price for the quality and performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slow Start But Now Works Great Out of the box, monitor would not turn on. After verifying power and double checking the position of the on-off switch, I called BenQ tech support. They declared the monitor DOA and suggested contacting B&H for a replacement. Then, one last attempt at turning it on and it came to life. Since that time (over a month ago) I haven't had any trouble at all with the monitor. I use it for Photoshop/Lightroom photo editing and it is a great monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economy priced but superb quality Ok, first the good: 1. Great color fidelity, excellent for Photoshop and Lightroom 2. Excellent build quality. The stand is great 3DOF. 3. Plenty of connectivity, HDMI 1.4, 2.0, DIsplayport, USB 3, nice..... 4. Viewing angles are great cause its an IPS panel Now the bad: 1. The bezel is large, like nearly 1 inch BUT, for this price, it's worth it. I bought two of these 27" beauties and using it with the 2013 Mac Pro. Works great. Unless you see the need to spend more money, get this, use it, enjoy it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from BenQ Bl2711u 27" Monitor I purchased this monitor for Photography processing. Screen is bright and has a great colors. When checking out previous peoples purchase all seemed well. No complaints by B&H customers about "Flashing." When mine started Flashing or Flickering I checked elsewhere and found more that two or three complaints about flickering on Amazon. I haven't decided to return it as of yet, because it only seems to flicker when I'm watching videos. Plus, I don't think I could get it re-packed. I don't know who packed it, but it must have been done by a robot. Apparently it's a good way to prevent returns.
