This B&H Kit provides four lenses that you can use to shoot images from wide shots to portrait; it includes Rokinon's 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm T1.5 Cine DS Lenses for Canon EF Mount that feature sharp optics and similar physical characteristics for fast lens changes. The lenses share a T-stop range of 1.5 to 22. The included lenses feature Canon EF lens mounts and cover full-frame sensors. The lenses are suitable for shooting using available light, and as they all share the same exposure range, there is no worry when changing lenses you will also have to change your lighting or camera settings.

Aperture and focus scales are marked on both sides of the lens, which makes it easier for a focus puller to work either side of the lens. The lenses feature a multi-layer coating providing good contrast, a sharp image, and protection from veiling glare. Industry standard focus and iris gear rings share a common position across the lenses for quick lens swaps when working with lens accessories such as follow focus units. Focus and iris are manual only with no electronic focus or iris control by the camera, and the iris ring is de-clicked, which allows you to make smooth iris pulls during a shot.

  • Rokinon 50mm T1.5 AS UMC Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount

The 50mm T1.5 AS UMC Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount from Rokinon is a fast manual focus prime lens. It provides a very fast maximum aperture of T1.5 for effective low light capture and shallow depth of field control and an 8 blade iris for attractive bokeh. Optimized for cinema and video applications, the focus and aperture control rings are outfitted with industry standard gearing, which provides an interface for working with a traditional follow focus. The aperture control ring has also been de-clicked, which enables smooth iris pulls. In addition, bright aperture and distance markings are printed on the lens barrel facing laterally to facilitate easier control by a focus puller.

The 50mm has a minimum focus distance of 1.5'. Internal focusing minimizes the effects of lens breathing, which insures a more consistent angle-of-view when adjusting focus. The lens is composed of 9 elements in 6 groups, including one aspherical element and one hybrid aspherical element to reduce aberrations. In addition, a lens multi-coating helps to improve light transmission reducing flare and ghosting. The filter thread diameter is 77mm.

With this 50mm lens, Rokinon introduces the DS series of cinema lenses, unifying their cine lenses in more than just name. Each of the DS branded lenses will offer the same alignment of their geared focus and aperture rings so that follow focus and other rig accessories won't need re-adjustment when swapping lenses. Also, each DS lens is tested to be color matched with the other lenses in the series and provide the same color and contrast when shooting video. Lastly, the lenses are marked with focusing scales on each side of the barrel for easier adjustment from either side of the camera.

Standard length manual focus prime lens for EF mount cameras.
Functional as still photo lens but optimized for cinema and video shooting with geared aperture and focus rings, de-clicked aperture for smooth exposure transitions and laterally printed aperture and distance markings. The 50mm T1.5 is part of the DS series of cine lenses, sharing characteristics and features that unify the series and make it easier for users to swap out lenses when shooting video. Each DS lens provides aligned focus and aperture rings so that readjustment of the follow focus is not necessary when switching lenses. Also each lens has been tested to match color and contrast for a consistent look and less potential post-processing. Finally, all DS lenses print focus scales on each side of the lens barrel for ease of use from both sides of the camera.
Very fast T1.5 maximum aperture for effective low light capture and shallow depth of field.
Internal focusing system with 9 lens elements in 6 groups.

24, 35, 50, 85mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens Bundle for Canon EF Mount is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from 24, 35, 50, 85mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens Bundle I have been pleasantly surprised with these lenses. For budget glass it really give me a nice image. I'm shooting with the Blackmagic Mini URSA 4K and the results are extremely good. I would have loved to get Canon primes and go with the PL mount lenses. That would have been cool and being able to use B4 glass would have been nice, but the price was hard to beat and the results are pretty sweet. One issue that I would like to see improved was the lens hoods that are a bit flimsy. Not bad mind you but not super sturdy. The lenses themselves have a good weight and solid construction. Far better than I expected. The focus ring has more throw to it than regular DLSR lenses so you have a smoother focus. I'm pleased and I would purchase them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice kit! I purchased this kit a few months ago and found these lenses to be very well made and sharp. I compared these lenses to the canon L series of lenses and didn't see any differences in sharpness or clarity. You really can't go wrong with this kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got more than I though I bought these lenses for smaller projects, content piece work, and the odd position in a small space shots. But once I started using them in the field I soon realised these things had a lot more to offer in quality than they are given credit for. I work as a director/dp and shoot commercials for a living. The way the business is going here in Australia, budgets are getting tighter and tighter, and it's all becoming more difficult to cut deals with crew and suppliers. It's unfortunate, but that's reality. I was ask to shoot a one week run commercial, a tiny budget, the producer was desperate and under pressure, and I explained to them that this was not something I felt completely comfortable with, but due to circumstance we should just go for it. I showed him my results from previous test and away we went. The results were stunning, it was a beauty lifestyle piece, shooting on the beach, in the mountains, on top of buildings, all sunrise shots, with a lot of backlit flare looking stuff shot on a C300. The editor was blown away, as was the client. We had to keep reminding ourselves that these were $$lenses. (The content wasn't bad either...lol) It was a fantastic exercise in low budget, highish production value. My only regret was not picking up the 100mm (which I'm about to order). I've got the 14, 25, 35 ,50 and the 85. Very curious to see how they age. The 85 is a bit short in the minimum focus area, and I think the markings are a bit small...but I'm old, and need everything to be bigger looking these days. The small downside to them was getting use to the field of view, they don't mentally match with Cooke's or Super-Speeds, something that took a bit of getting use to, but not a deal breaker by any means. I wouldn't try to match them either to any of the big boys lenses, head to head the professionals would spot the difference, on their own its a different story. Looking to put these on an URSA Mini and figure I've got a small inexpensive package to offer up when times are tough. Really handy to have this set - no regrets at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Value Cine Lenses Sub $2000 Between the fast declicked aperture, standard gears, compact design, quality construction for lenses which aren't all metal, and unreasonably low cost, these lenses are the best value you can find for under $2000. And I mean $2000 a piece. Here you get four lenses for that much. The one place you'd figure they would suffer is image quality, which isn't the case. Stopped down to T2.8, they are tack sharp on my GH4 with Speedbooster XL. Opened up to T1.5 or T2.0, they have some character while maintaining contrast and resolution. Color matching across the set of lenses is a big plus to my post production workflow, as I grade all of my own shots. The only real competing lenses are those from Vedra which are marginally slower, but sharper wide open and about twice as expensive. Combined with a Speedbooster on a M43 camera, these lenses are my first choice for low budget filmmakers looking to own their own set of cinema primes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Kit and you can't go wrong. I love these Rokinons. I've used Rokinons for the past 2 years. At my work we have 2 of these kits. We use them with the Canon C300, Sony Fs700r and A7s, GH4 and Black Magic Pocket Camera. Soon we will be using them with Red scarlet-W's when those come in. Because of how much I've loved working with them and the images I've gotten with them, I decided to purchase my own kit. I've been really impressed with their low light capability. I've been able to maximize that to still have a beautiful, contrasts and cinematic image with low light situations. Seriously such a solid set of Cine Lenses, and for the price? Easy decision. You can't go wrong.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just Do it It's $2k for a set of cine lens and I could talk to I'm blue in the face about the flimsy hoods, greenish tint and softness wide open but they're color matched and sharp as hell at T5.6 and the unified focus and aperture gears make the on set workflow faster. It's a good investment and a great starter kit that will pay for itself in the long haul.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great kit for a low price Having a set of prime lenses where I don't have to waste extra time adjusting a follow focus has been an improvement over photo lenses. The focus and aperture rings are smooth. The build quality is not ideal, but expected for lenses in this price range. Though it has a 1.5 T-stop, I wouldn't recommend going past 2/2.8, unless an extra stop of light is absolutely necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded expectations I couldn't be more happy with the kit. The build is MUCH better than I expected. Focus and Iris are smooth with just enough resistance. I have had no problem at all with the hoods - I think they get a bad rap because they are not solid as the lens. I have haze filters to protect the lens and on these the lens caps are not solid. Probably my biggest gripe. Size makes the highly portable. Ive got all 5 and a Nikon 17-35 in a Pelican 1450 case. Results: I have found the color wonderful. Skin tones land right on the line in vectorscopes straight out of camera. I find them sharp enough wide open and like a tack at 2.8 and above. If this kit cost $3.5K I'd probably give it 4 stars. But there is simply nothing that comes close for the cost. If you are thinking of transitioning from zooms to primes and don't have $10K and 2 PAs to lug your gear around there isn't another choice (assuming you aren't using a micro 4/3 then maybe Veydra which I haven't used).
