MSI GE62 APACHE-002 Overview

The GE62 Apache-002 15.6" Laptop Computer from MSI is built with gaming and multimedia use in mind. The chassis features a bold design with a sleek aluminum black body kit and a laser film cover complemented by red accents.

The 15.6" eDP widescreen display features LED backlighting, which uses less power than CCFL backlighting. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution powered by a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 discrete memory. The display can play Full HD 1080p content natively without upscaling. The screen also has an anti-reflective finish, which reduces glare in brightly lit environments.

The system is powered by a quad-core Haswell 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor. It also has 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM, a 1TB 7200 rpm hard drive, a SuperMulti DVD burner, a 3-in-1 media card reader, Killer Gaming Network with 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, an integrated 720p HD webcam, and microphone. There are also built-in quad speakers. There is also an extra mSATA hard drive slot if you wish to upgrade in the future.

Windows 8.1 is the installed operating system. Windows 8.1 improves the user experience of Windows 8 with several additions and changes. The Start button returns, but has two limited core functions. A left click takes you to the redesigned Start screen featuring tiles that update in real-time. A right click brings up an advanced menu where you can access the Device Manager, Control Panel and more. You will also be able to boot directly to the traditional desktop screen instead of the Windows 8.1 Start screen. Windows 8.1 provides a unique user experience that differs from previous versions of Windows.

Quad-Core 4th-Gen Haswell Intel Core i7 Performance
The MSI GE62 houses a 4th-generation Haswell Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor. Its quad cores can reach a stock speed of 2.6 GHz. The processor can also be overclocked up to 3.6 GHz, thanks to Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. The fourth generation Intel Core i7 processor uses less voltage than its predecessor for improved battery life. With a dedicated 6MB L3 cache, 8GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM and Intel Hyper-Threading technology, you'll be multitasking between applications quickly and efficiently.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M Graphics
The GE62 features a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 discrete memory. Featuring NVIDIA's advanced Maxwell architecture, the GTX 965M utilizes advanced sampling and Dynamic Super Resolution technology to provide high performance and efficient power management. With Multi-Frame sampled Anti-Aliasing (MFAA), the GeForce GTX 965M delivers a 30% performance boost while maintaining smooth, high-quality edges by alternating sample calculations across each frame and each pixel. Part of the NVIDIA GameWorks library for developers, Voxel Global Illumination (VXGI) accelerates dynamic lighting effects for an immersive, cinematic experience. The GTX 965M also supports NVIDIA GameStream, NVIDIA G-Sync, and NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0 for added performance and features.
Full HD 15.6" eDP Widescreen Display
The 15.6" eDP display has a Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution so you can play 1080p HD content natively in deep black levels and vibrant color. You can also output video to an external display via the HDMI port.

802.11ac Wi-Fi & Bluetooth 4.0
Featuring Intel dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, the GE62 delivers high performance, broader coverage, and longer battery life. 802.11ac Wi-Fi can reach up to 433 Mbps. The GE62 also comes with Bluetooth 4.0 technology so you'll be able to connect wirelessly to Bluetooth-compatible peripherals and accessories.
