    FLIR FXAD01 reviews

FX Dash Mount is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as Expected This dashmount works as expected with the the FLIR FX: when connected to the mount and external power source, the camera automatically goes into dash cam recording. It configures the memory card to save the running video and the triggered events into different folders. The camera records in full HD with sound, and saves the video to the micro SD card in sequential one-minute clips. There are a few caveats for using this that are fully explained in the documentation, but still stand out as areas of potential improvement for future versions: 1. The video is stored only stored to the SD card in dashcam mode. There is no option to send or view live video or recordings from the cloud as it does in normal home use. You can connect to the camera as a hotspot from a phone and view the video with the FLIR FX app, but I cant imagine why you'd need to do that since you would almost certainly be in the car with the camera seeing what it sees. 2. You cannot view the recordings on the SD card from the app. The only way to view the saved video is from the SD card--you must remove the card from the camera, plug it into a reader on a computer and open the file from the computer. Not a problem if you're using this strictly to record evidence for after the fact events, but useless if you expect to be able to monitor someone's activity remotely in real time or without physical access to the card. 3. The running record of one minute clips saves up to about 40% of the available space on the SD card. That means that once the series of clips takes 40% of card space, the oldest clip deletes. (The clips are seamless, so you could just video editing software to combine them into a longer clips.) The maximum compatible size micro SD card for the camera is 64GB.
