Lenovo ThinkStation P900 30A5000TUS Workstation

The ThinkStation P900 30A5000TUS Workstation from Lenovo is a high-performance system with fast processing that was designed for architects, product designers, financial traders, medical and research professionals, software designers, and engineers. Additionally, it is also well suited for those who work with intensive graphics, multimedia tasks, and gaming.

The system is powered by a 2.3 GHz Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 Ten-Core processor which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously. If you need more power, the CPU can be overclocked to 3.0 GHz and the built-in 16GB of 2133 MHz PC4-17000 DDR4 SDRAM allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. The RAM is installed in a 2 x 8GB configuration and the system has a total of 16 memory slots, with 14 still available for use. This system supports a maximum of 256GB of RAM, or 16GB per slot. The system memory also features ECC technology which can help detect and correct the most common kinds of internal data corruption.

For long term storage of your files, a 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD offers quick access to your files. While this SSD may not have the larger capacity of a traditional hard drive, SSDs contain no moving parts which helps protect them against bumps and drops. Additionally, as SSDs contain no moving parts, these drives receive less wear and tear, as the storage media never comes into contact with read and write heads used by traditional hard drives. Furthermore, because this SSD uses PCIe connectivity, it will be able to achieve faster and more efficient data transfer rates as compared to an SSD using a SATA connection.

External peripherals, such as additional storage, optical drives, printers, and memory card readers may be connected using the 8 x USB 3.0 ports and 4 x USB 2.0 ports. There is also one front-mounted USB 3.0 always-on charging port and one diagnostic USB 3.0 port. Internal expansion may be accomplished using the PCIe slots and additional compatible peripherals, such as keyboards, headsets, and mice may be connected using Bluetooth 4.0 technology.

The 30A5000TUS includes a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, and a power cord. The installed operating system is Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) and a license and media for installing Windows 8.1 Professional (64-bit) is also included.
