    Vortex VENOM reviews

Venom Red Dot Sight (3 MOA Red Dot, Matte Black) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 66.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Accurate Optic/Durability Issues I currently own 2 of the Venom sights and I've never had a problem with the sights holding a zero; which for me was the #1 concern with owning a red dot sight. I've used them on a 12ga semi shotgun, 375 H&H Magnum, 458 Win Mag, and various pistols. However, the 3 star rating is for the durability issues with the sights. One is currently mounted to a Springfield XDm 45 Comp and the brightness setting no longer works, it's stuck on the brightest setting. The 2nd sight is on a PMR-30 and the dot brightness flickers/changes while firing and does not adjust with the buttons. I will be using the Vortex warrenty to get repairs done to these sights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Red Dot ever! I got my Venum in January. The Venum is the best Red Dot I have tried! I shoot IPSC in Open division and the Red Dot is mounted on my pistol and I shoot 9mm Major so the gun takes a beating. I like the Venum better then the Razor because of the low profile it has, and I like it better then the Viper because of the bigger "screen" on top af that it is waterproof. I have shoot with the Venum in indoor ranges with good and poor light, and running the Venum in Auto mode is just great, it adjusts the power of the dot automatically! Thanks for that. It´s the same when I shoot outdoors and if you get sun directly in the scope you can still see the dot. Very easy to change the battery without having to take the scope of. Covered by your VIP Warranty, what´s not to like!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT AS A PISTOL OPTIC I purchased this to mount on my Walther Q5 Match. (Fits perfectly with the included Dr. Optic plate) It feels like cheating. Once you master the presentation of the firearm and can locate the dot you can't miss. GREAT quality. HIGHLY recommended. Easy access to battery with is a huge plus. Stop thinking about it and pick this up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small in size but big in value This little red dot is just what the Doctor ordered, small in size, very clear, dot is adjustable, works great on my shotgun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The little dot that could I was told do not buy this dot for a carry optics gun for USPSA. I ended up going with it anyways because of my experience with other vortex products. Last year I put over 10,000 rounds with this slide mounted optic and still don't have an issue. It's all beat up from mistreating it during competition, but it still runs. I have made the change from CO to limited so I won't be running it in USPSA, but it is on my steel challenge rifle ready to go for this up and coming season. I have never had an issue with it and never saw the battery die. If you are looking for a solid dot, this is the one for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again and highly recommend Vortex! I bought two of these for mounting on a customized Ruger 10/22 and a Taylor & Company 1892 Alaskan in .357 magnum(manufactured by Chiappa). I purchased two mounts from EGW to fit these Venoms to my rifles. They are very high quality mounts with hardware and facilitate mounting directly on my 10/22 receiver and the barrel on my Chiappa .357. EGW makes many different mounts for various pistols and rifles. the Vortex Venom red dot sights are high quality, well made, extremely functional red dots that cost half or less the price of the premium branded sights. Vortex has the best warranty in the business-Unconditional, forever, transferrable, no receipt needed, free repair or replacement, PERIOD!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME OPTIC! I received my 4th Venom (3 MOA) red dot about two weeks ago. As to no surprise, it went on the Smith 617 without a hitch and was sighted in by the end of the first cylinder. It's light, fast, reliable, and consistent. I always go with the 3 MOA version as I suffer from astigmatism in my dominant eye, which tends to make the dots a little larger for me. I have used the Venom on everything (shotguns, rifles, pistols, and revolvers) and in nearly all weather conditions and temperatures (-25 to 110). The dot is always there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great red dot sight I am really liking my Vortex Venom; it meets all of the review homework I did prior to making my purchase. Mounting it to my Smith and Wesson .22 Victory was simple, as was the sighting-in process. Very light weight, beautifully machined. I'm shooting really nice, tight groups at 25 yards, and I'm just getting started with it. Best feature for me: I can clearly see the red dot without my reading glasses, meaning I can now go squirrel and rabbit hunting without them. Before, I just couldn't line up the open sights with the target without my glasses. Both thumbs way up for this sight.
