Utilizing a nano coating process for consistent color rendition from lens to lens, the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens answers the challenge of assembling a set of lenses over time. The lens comes in Canon EF mount, and it features industry standard geared focus and iris rings that share common position with other Rokinon Cine DS lenses. To aid focus pullers who have to work both sides of the lens, the aperture and focus scales are marked on both sides of the lens.

This 10mm lens produces a 105.9° angle-of-view when used on cameras with APS-C-sized sensors. Hybrid aspherical lenses render sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations, with a minimum focus distance of 7.9" from the lens. A built-in petal shaped lens hood provides flare protection when shooting without a matte box.

Nano Coated lenses minimize flare and ghosting, and the lenses are color matched to a standard, eliminating the need to acquire an entire set of lenses at the same time.
Industry-standard gearing for focus and aperture rings. Each lens in the Rokinon DS series share common focus and iris gear ring positions, which speeds up lens changes as accessories, such as follow focus units or iris motors, don't have to be re-positioned.
The lens features an internal focus mechanism, so the front of the lens doesn't rotate when changing focus, allowing you to use filters and clip-on matte boxes without vignetting as you change (pull) focus.
The lens features a 6-bladed iris that provides round out of focus highlights and a natural looking Bokeh. The declicked aperture ring allows for smooth iris pulls.
A built-in lens hood provides flare protection without a matte box.

Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Reviews

Very cinematic quality on the BMPCC6k. Flare isn't bad, contrast is good, very sharp, no distortion. Build quality is great for it's price range. Gotta love Rokinon.

Image is neither sharp nor steady

I greatly regret buying this lens. What I regret more, is not fully testing its capabilities within the 30 day return window. I've used these same lenses before on the a7sii and had fantastic results. Something about the adaptation to micro four thirds ruined them in the process. You cannot get a sharp image when opened up to the widest aperture. It's very annoying to have to stop down just for a usable image! Furthermore, the picture is very wobbly and disorienting when shooting handheld. I'm not sure what causes this, but I can't get a steady image unless my shot is static. Otherwise, it looks great. But the limitations simply are not worth it.

question

in aps-c camera it's produces 16mm or 10mm
Asked by: Andre Luis A.
The Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens will always be a 10mm lens; it cannot change. What changes is the FOV (Field of View) it produces on different sensors. On an APS-C camera, this lens provides a 96 FOV. To get a 96FOV on a Full Frame camera, you would need a 16mm lens. In the long run, I suggest dropping crop factor for it causes confustion. Learn what the wide-normal-tele lens focal lengths are for the sensor you are using then drop calculating FOV equivalents for a sensor size you are not using.

question

Can be mounted to the new Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4.6K EF-Mount? - Thank you
Asked by: Edwin
Since the APS-C and the Super35 formats are so similar in size, lenses for one format will almost always work with the other. While the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens with Canon EF Mount for APS-C has not been tested per se with the unreleased Mini, there should be no issue using the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 EF mount lens.

question

what is the differnce between this lens and Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine Lens for Canon EF Mount?
Asked by: SALEH A.
The Cine DS stands for Dual Side focus barrel marking. This means the focus puller can see a lens focus scale no matter what side of the camera they are on. The Cine lens on the other hand, has focus markings only on the left side of camera. The DS is also supposed to signify that the coatings are uniform among all DS lenses. However the Cine lenses seem to claim the same thing. So it comes down to whether or not you think $139 for a second focus scale is important.

question

Will this lens work on a Super 35 Sensor camera such as a C100/C300?
Asked by: Daniel
Although the lens has not been tested specifically on the two cameras listed, APS-C and S35 are close in dimension and the lens won't have any issue mounting to those cameras. If suffering slight vignetting on the C100 with this lens, the camera offers an EF-S lens mode option which crops into image slightly to remove that vignetting.

question

Is this a fish-eye lens?
Asked by: peter s.
This lens produces a a 105.9 angle-of-view when used on cameras with APS-C-sized sensors. In order to get a fish-eye you would need a lens with a 180 view. For contrast, a 38mm lens on a APS-C sensor will produce a 43 FOV. What you will get with this lens is a very wide image with minimal barrel-distortion.
