What will this give on a 1.6 crop factor sensor like Canon SL2? will it maintain it actual size or magnify it
Asked by: Olayinka
The Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount for APS-C cameras will not give you a crop factor if used with APS-C camera like the SL2 or a Super 35 mm camera. A case where you would have a crop factor would be if your lens was a full frame and you were mounting it to an APS-C/35 mm sensor camera. Then the crop factor would be 1.6. A crop factor exists only when the sensor size is smaller than the lens size.

question

Will this work with the metabones XL .64 speedbooster and the GH4 shooting in 4K cinema mode without vignetting and will peaking and zebra information be available?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Metabones T Speed Booster XL 0.64x Adapter for Full-Frame Canon EF-Mount Lens to Select Micro Four Thirds-Mount Cameras according to Metabones, Canon EF-S lenses are not supported, but third-party EF-mount APS-Clenses can be mounted and will have full electronic functionality Unfortunately, there are no electronics in this Rokinion 16mm lens so no electronic interface is possible. Lastly, while it says 3rd party and that presumably includes Rokinon, there is no confirming data saying that this one does work. However, it is most likely it does cover the GH4 sensor. Please email us to confirm this lens's use with the adapter and the camera. provideo@bhphoto.com.

question

I see this isn't listed as a full frame lens, I own a Canon 5d mark IV any issues for full frame cameras?
Asked by: Jeremy
While you could mount this on your 5D Mark IV, it is not recommended for you to do so. That is because the resultant image will have severe blackening of the corners known as vignetting. There are no affordable 16mm full frame lenses. But your are in luck in that there are 14mm full frame lenses available. Here is one we can recommend. Pls can I get a link for Rokinon 50mm for APS C camera like Canon SL2
Asked by: Olayinka
BH #RO5015TC is the 50mm EF mount lens, this will work great with the SL2. This lens covers both Full Frame and APS-C sized sensors. Rokinon does not make an APS-C only model for the 50mm. https://bhpho.to/2rsnmpA

question

If this lens is designed for APS-C sensors, then what is it an equivalent to on a BMPCC with Metabones Speedbooster (With a combined crop factor of 1.74x). I really want to get the DS version so I can build a good set, and am looking for a 24mm equivalent, which would be a 16mm (16x1.74 = 24mm). I really don't want to get a 14mm lens as in the future I won't use such a wide lens with a FF sensor. anyone know?
Asked by: Anonymous
On the C100's Super35 sensor using this 16mm lens yes you would get approximately the FOV of a 24mm lens being used on a Full Frame sensor. In the future, just learn what the wide, normal and tele mm's are for the Super35/APS-C sensor. Then you do not have to calculate FOV for a sensor you are not using.

question

Does it fish eye at all - or just a solid wide lens?
Asked by: Jeremy S.
There is some barrel distortion that will be seen in shooting straight lines and doing pans. However, it is not severe and is in keeping with other wide angle lenses of this focal length. In other words, no fish-eye effect.
