question

Will this lens cover a RED Epic Mysterium sensor in 5K HD?
Asked by: Christian
This lens creates an image circle of 26.70mm. The RED Epic needs lenses that can cover it's 29.7 image circle sensor. So unfortunately this will not work. A lens for full frame cameras is the way to go.

question

Whats the main difference between this lens and the previous model released Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Nikon F? (This lense is $119 more expensive).
Asked by: Flor R.
The new Rokinon DS line provides a few features over the standard Rokinon Cine lenses which are better color matching between glass in the DS line, unified gear and aperture positions among all Rokinon Cine DS lenses, and lastly, the lenses are marked with focusing scales on each side of the barrel for easier adjustment from either side of the camera.

A 16mm APS-C lens on a APS-C camera, is the ...

A 16mm APS-C lens on a APS-C camera, is the equivalent of a 16mm full frame lens on a full frame camera? OR the equivalent of a 16mm full frame lens on a APS-C camera? I think the angle of view of a 16mm full frame lens on an APS-C camera is 82°50 and a 16mm full frame lens on a full frame camera is 106°60?
Asked by: Jerzain
Lenses are listed by their focal length and from there they are subject to the crop factor of the camera. This lens will be subject to the standard 1.5x crop factor of an APS-C Sensor and will be the equivalent of a 24mm lens.

question

Is this lens will work on a Panasonic GH4 with metabones adapter of course?
Asked by: geo
Yes, you can use this Rokinon 16mm Nikon F mount lens on a GH4. However, there is no Metabones adapter available to do this. Metabones Nikon F to MTF adapters are for Blackmagic cameras only unfortunately. Of the others available, the expensive but superb MTF Services Ltd Nikon G to Micro 4/3 Adapter B&H # MTNIKGM43 is the one we recommend. It is beautifully made, will hold the lens perfectly for infinity focus and will do so for years of hard professional use.

What will this give on a 1.6 crop factor sensor ...

What will this give on a 1.6 crop factor sensor like Canon SL2? will it maintain it actual size or magnify it
Asked by: Olayinka
The Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount for APS-C cameras will not give you a crop factor if used with APS-C camera like the SL2 or a Super 35 mm camera. A case where you would have a crop factor would be if your lens was a full frame and you were mounting it to an APS-C/35 mm sensor camera. Then the crop factor would be 1.6. A crop factor exists only when the sensor size is smaller than the lens size.
