The housing features mechanical controls providing access to virtually all camera functions, including all important ones. It has an ergonomic design with a support tray and a quick-release grip offering better handling and an attachment point for lighting. Built for durability, the housing is made by hand in the USA from clear, corrosion-resistant polycarbonate. It ships without a required lens port and accepts one of several interchangeable ports for zoom, macro, and wide-angle Micro Four Thirds lenses from Olympus and Panasonic.
The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera offers a Super 16mm image sensor with an effective resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is capable of capturing 13 stops of dynamic range. The camera records Full HD video in either the lossless CinemaDNG RAW or Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) format. The active Micro Four Thirds lens mount accommodates a growing range of MFT lenses and accepts a host of legacy lenses using optional adapters. Blackmagic Design has packed all of these features into a compact, lightweight camera with a large, 3.5" LCD monitor for easy image viewing at a resolution of 800x480. Additionally, the Pocket Cinema model is equipped with micro HDMI, mini jack microphone, mini jack headphone, and LANC connections.
