Pentax S-Series WP 10x50 Overview

Designed for both astronomical and terrestrial use, Pentax's 10x50 SP S-Series WP Binoculars can be used with confidence in all weather and conditions. Complementing the optical performance are construction details made for the trail. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for fogproof performance and to make them submersible to as much as 3.3'. The binoculars sport a generous 20mm eye relief and the fold-down eyecups seal against the ocular cavity to block stray peripheral light which can dim images and effect night adjusted vision.

Pentax S-Series WP 10x50 Reviews

I photograph with a Pentax camera. I really like their optics. This set of binoculars did not disappoint . The view is very bright and clear. They are fairly light to carry. At 10 power you can still hold them steady. I use them primarily for whale watching. Very happy with this purchase.

Mediocre optically

Solid well made binoculars. However, its optical performance leaves a lot to be desired. The image is bright, but details are washed out. Also sweet spot is quite small, if you take into account the narrow field of view (5 degrees), this is pretty bad. I wouln't recommend this unless you are able to examine one closely and are satisfied. Could be the sample I have is bad. Also it is difficult to get the right focus because of the lack of contrast.

For moon and stargazing, what reasonable tripod would you recommend to use with the Pentax 10x50 SP WP ?
Asked by: Dale
To mount the Pentax 10x50 S-Series SP WP Binoculars on a tripod one needs an adapter like the Pentax TP-3 Tripod Adapter (f/ Binoculars w/ a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket), BH #PETAPCFQ (https://bhpho.to/3avpVxS). For a tripod one can use the Vanguard VEO 2 PRO 233AO Aluminum Tripod with PH-28 Tripod Head, BH #VAVEO2P233AO (https://bhpho.to/3PBhmkb).
