To help cut weight, the housing is made of corrosion and impact-resistant fiberglass reinforced polycarbonate polymer. They are also temperature-resistant allowing for their use in extreme climates while reducing expansion and contraction wide temperature swings can cause which can make the optical components move out of collimation over time. Their optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed so they can are submersible to 3.3', as well as fogproof in all weather conditions.

Pentax A-Series AD WP 9x28 Reviews

It's all about the quality of the optics.

You can get binoculars with more magnification and a bigger objective lens for a fraction of the price of these, but you won't see as clearly. Yes, these binoculars are quite expensive, but you absolutely get your money's worth. With some binoculars, you can get a much bigger image of a distant objects, but without this kind of clarity, you won't get as much detail. It's all about the quality of the optics. These have first class Japanese optics -- the best in the world -- with astonishing clarity. Also, the combination of 9 by 28 is an excellent compromise that allows for a very steady image. They are quite compact and easy to carry around but deliver far betted viewing than most other compact binoculars.
