The compact and lightweight black 8x21 U-Series UP Binocular combines aspherical optical elements and BAK4 Porro prisms to deliver edge-to-edge image sharpness with a 50° angle of view. The optical elements are also fully multicoated to provide a high transmission of light. With an 8x magnification and 21mm objectives, you obtain a notable magnification, insignificant image jitter due to unsteady hands, and a compact form factor. You can easily spot your targets with a wide 6.2° angular field of view and quickly bring them into focus with a center focus wheel. In addition to observing distant scenes, birds and game, the minimum focus of 9.2' allows you to study in detail close objects like animal footprints, marks or landscape features. The binocular also features a 2.6mm exit pupil, a 13mm eye relief, an interpupillary and a diopter adjustments.

The binocular is very compact, lightweight, and features a single piece frame that houses objectives, which allows for a synchronized interpupillary adjustment. To accommodate glass wearers, the binocular offers sliding rubber eyecups. Also included are a carrying case, a neck strap, and eyepiece covers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent optics in a very portable package I went to B&H with the aim to buy a Nikon 10x20 binocular for when I go out for landscape and wildlife photography. However, after testing the Nikon, I asked the salesman what would he recommend me...he only said: check this one and then..check now this one against this Leica... I couldn't believe the quality of the image in the Pentax...much better than the Nikon and at the same level with the Leica!...I have to thanks the salesman in white gloves that more than a salesman resulted an advisor for the best deal...this is what I like so much about B&H: they are not simple resellers, they are first of all advisors and afterwards, they sell what you really need or want. This binocular is now always in my Mini Trekker with my photo excellent complement during my photographic trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's the 2nd time I buy this type I've checked this type only once up-to now in a NAB show, sitting high above and it helped my much. To be more precise I need some more opportunities to try it.It's easy to handle, setup doesn't change accidentally like in other types, therefore readjusting is not necessary when it is being used for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mighty & Tiny Impressed by optic quality - sharpness comparable to my Pentax 8x40 PCF WPII. Surprised by how tiny size, great for travel. Form factor feels great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent small binocular I almost went for a larger pair of Pentax (I basically knew I would buy a Pentax based on my price range of under $100.00) but so glad I went in to the store where Robert at the binocular counter showed me these after I asked for the larger Pentax and an Olympus. These 8x21 are very good for eye glass wearers and are comfortable to hold and give a very good image. Took them to a concert already and they worked very well, including no noticeable eye fatigue. I am sure they will work for casual bird watching as well. If you are looking for a small compact pair of high quality binoculars, these are an excellent value. The one drawback is the carrying case they come in. I found it much too tight a fit and so will improvise with a slightly larger padded case. I did not take a star off for that, however, since it is the binoculars that matter to me, not the case. I can always find another case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Travel Nice compact binoculars for a very reasonable price to carry around on vacation without a lot of weight or bulk. Good clarity comparable to some others costing a lot more. Used them at a Broadway play and just general viewing. I have larger binoculars at home that are much more bulkier and heavier. This go in my wife's purse-even better

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice compact binoculars I wanted a pair of small binoculars that I could keep in my office for times when I walk around campus and am casually birding. These are very reasonably priced, while still maintaining decent optical quality. They wouldn't be my choice for a serious birding outing, of course, but they are useful for this particular need.
