No More Vortex PST scopes for me

Been using Vortex PST scopes on all my long range guns but I have been noticing more and more shoots have been showing up with the Burris XTR II scopes at matches. I purchased one for myself and I see why. The very best for the price paid.

This is the first Burris scope I have every owned. In the past it has always been Leopold for me. I have looked at buying a Vortex, but when I looked thru the XTRII 4-20x50 I was surprised at how clear the glass was and I love all of the features that come with it not to mention the warranty. Have not got to hunt with it yet but zeroing it is was a breeze. Very happy with my purchase. Looks like it's Burris for me from now own.

Very good value

I bought this scope a few months ago and have been pleased with all aspects of it. The glass is clear, the turrets have positive clicks and it is built sturdy. It's a lot of scope for the money and you won't regret purchasing one. Mine is the 4-20 with the Horus reticle. There's a proce premium for it, but that reticle is a nice feature to have. After zeroing at 100, I took it out and was very easily hitting steel at 910 yards on my very first long range outing with it. No walking in rounds, just dial and make contact. My second time out at long range I shot it at 1000 and once I figured out the wind, I hit 4/4 shots.

Love those turrets

Check out GunTotinMinnesotan on youtube to watch my mini review. I love the optic, it's my favorite for the price. Turrets are fantastic, tracking is near perfect, glass is very usable up to 20 power (minor distortion visible at 17ish power). I suppose the only thing that would make it better is to have the parallax go down to 25 yards, and from what I understand the gen 3 model will do that. Burris is a very under-valued brand. They kick the competition's butt in the XTR series. Really looking forward to see the gen 3's! Great work Burris!

Awesomeness

Last year After owning a 5-25 xtrii along with a couple of other high end brand scopes I decided to buy a 4-20 h591 xtrii to put on my match rifle I was building in 6.5 saum. I went with this scope because of the features, price and my experience with the 5-25 model. Being my match rifle I wanted a scope that was precise with or without dialing. This means having a tree style or Horus style reticle. I prefer the h59 and it is my favorite of all current offerings anywhere. This scope is the lowest priced scope with this reticle. While being the lowest price it is not the lowest quality rather it is very high quality in terms of workman's ship, durability and reliability. I wanted a scope that I could get out to 2k with on dial without using holds. With a 20 moa base and a 5 moa insert in the xtr signature rings I get 92 minutes (26 mils) of dial which gets me 2300 yards at my favorite range. I've only shot in 2 matches so far with this rifle and scope with 6th and 9th place finishes. This scope also helped me get my 1500 yard milk jug challenge and 1000 yard milk jug challenge. My only wish is that the xtrii h591 was offered in a 5-25x56 Other than that there is nothing to complain about

Amazing scope

I bought this back in March 2017. Being it’s my first scope I’ve ever bought it’s hard to give an “experienced review”. However using this scope for almost a year now with nothing but Happy reviews. I thoroughly enjoy the exposed turrets. After getting use to this scope for 9 months then using a modest Nikon mounted on a few buddies hunting rifles, you can greatly tell the difference This scope is truely a masterpiece which gives me goosebumps every time I look through it, even looking at the gorgeous lines of the body sitting in the case gives me the tingles. If you appreciate the little things in life like I do, perfectly machined tube, quality clicks of the turrets, mixed with the clarity to see hairs on some unintentional nut image 200 yards away. You’re going to appreciate this scope.

question

Illuminated red Ballistic 5.56 Gen 3 reticle optimized for use with 5.56/.223 and 7.62/.308 ammunitionIs there a chart for 7.62??
Asked by: dale j.
That scope only works with 5.56. For 308 you could use Burris scopes with Ballistsic CQ reticles. This one has a mil-based reticle for general use. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=201012&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma&Top+Nav-Search
