Great plate. Strong. Clips in solidly without hesitation. No wiggle once locked

As much as you pay for this and you have to strong arm it to get it to click and I even went and bought a Zacuto plate just to be safe on compatibility. Returned it and coughing up a few more bucks for the Sony.

Works great, fits easily onto the zacuto rig. Works well to balance out small vs large lenses. A nesscary item since the VCT1 rig does not balance on a tripod as its built in baseplate mount is all the way forward. This fixes the issue, only wish it was packaged with the rig.

Its a tripod plate that will last forever

This is very heavy duty and will last forever - I don't see ever needing another one.

Hard to Use

Using this plate to attach the VCT Universal Baseplate by Zacuto. Disappointed to say the least. It takes about ten tries to slam the vct baseplate with my camera on to the vct tripod plate. I've shot with betacams in the past, and cameras will latch on to the vct tripod plate with no problem. This one seems like there's something blocking it from latching in. It will latch eventually...but ten tries? Still don't trust it when it's latched. Talked to Zacuto and they sent me a video on how to use it properly...thanks.

I bought this to use with my Canon C-300 mkii and Zacuto Recoil Rig and it has worked perfectly. I have seen other postings about quality issues with this plate, but I would respectively disagree. I’ve used countless quick release plates from Sony and Panasonic for decades, and find this one from Zacuto to be as good if not better than the others.

Not all metal

Compared to other VCT / Broadcast plates. This has a plastic safety latch (red lever) which over time will come loose and break off. The plate still functions even if broken off, and easily repaired with a screw. But at this price point, and for Zacuto, this is not the quality I was expecting

question

Does this zacuto quick release plate is compatible with the black majic Ursa 4K camera?what is its weight?any additional accessories needed to fit into the Ursa4K camera?
Asked by: Anonymous
This Zacuto VCT Tripod Plate weight about 2 lbs / 0.9kg. The URSA 4K is designed to clip right into any VCT plate. No other accessories should be needed.

question

How does this compare to the Sony VCT plate for $30 more?
Asked by: Pedro
Not sure as I've not tried the Sony VCT plate but from using this so far it's very solid and works as it should. I bought this because I got the Zacuto Indie Recoil and the fact that Zacuto gives a lifetime warranty on some of it's products, this included, sold me.

question

There is a review of this product that mentions it will only work with the Zacuto Universal Baseplate. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Seems silly that this product would not work with other VCT 14 camera plates?
Asked by: Brendan
It's a standard (but heavy) VCT plate. It will work as intended, in the standard.

question

Does this tripod plate work with the new Zacuto VCT Pro baseplate?
Asked by: Alan
Hi Alan, it has US and European threads and I use it with my Sachtlers. So in this configuration you have a quick release mounted on a quick release. I have the Zacuto recoil for the Sony FS5, which has threads as well. So, if have a Zacuto rig and want to save weight for travel you might bypass this thing and see if you need it. It is ROCK SOLID.

question

There is a review of this adapter that says it is no good and will not work with SMC takumar lenses. The reviewer notes a problem with the design that does not allow the aperture ring to be adjusted when the lens is mounted on the adaptor. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I have a lovely set of SMC takumar lenses that I would love to use on my Sony A7Sii but I can't find many options for lens adaptors.
