Transform your on-camera flash into an omni-directional light source with the MagSphere, designed for use with the MagMod flash modifier system. The soft, diffused light is flattering and it has an integrated gel slot for adjusting the color of your flash. The two neodymium rare-earth magnets allow it to quickly attach to a separately available MagGrip, as well as other modifiers, such as a MagGrid, for more control over your light. Additionally, it is made from molded silicone rubber for a sleek, simple design with good durability and it comes with a microfiber carrying pouch.

    MAGMOD MMSPHERE01 reviews

MagSphere is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 101.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from JUST LIKE A SOFTBOX Professional photographer Jeff Cable recommended this product in one of his recent blogs so I decided to try it. Wow, I'm impressed. I used it with my Nikon SB800 flash unit on my Nikon D750 and absolutely, without a doubt, the result was a softer and more-natural skin result. I'm really impressed. BTW, don't forget that you MUST also order the MagGrip to place onto your flash unit for the MagSphere to attach with the magnets of the MagGrip. Downside is that these two units do add weight to the flash unit but the results are definitely worth it. Once you attach the MagGrip onto your flash unit, it stays there, i.e. you do not remove it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A flash diffuser I can use with confidence! I have used both the Gary Fong and MagMod diffusers and the extra price makes the MagMod a bargain in comparison. The Gary Fong diffuser consistently caused great embarrassment in front of clients while constantly making adjustments to the diffuser. Hard to believe Gary Fong's diffuser is still selling. I digress... The MagMod and diffuser are the cat's pajamas! Soft, diffused light with minimal light loss. This works great for fill flash and as main flash. I couldn't be happier with my MagMod purchase and am looking forward to adding a MagGrid for more light control. Highly recommended and there is no alternative that works hassle-free, quickly and produces pleasing results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft Wrap Around light The soft silicon sphere is easy to attach to your flash (magnets) & store in your bag. Note: you must purchase MagGrip to fit to your flash head. Gives soft diffused wrap around light. When used inside & have normal height ceilings aim the flash head 90 degrees straight up. Outdoors aimed at the subject at close range the lighting is fantastic. Perfect for portraits with HSS (high speed synch) or as fill at sunset. The MagSphere & Maggrip is a bit top heavy when attached to flash. My Flashpoint flash units are rock solid and no movement of the flash head is evident. Great fast service from B&H as always.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent! I was skeptical, I've tried so many on-camera flash modifiers and seldom found any I really liked. This is the first time I've actually been amazed at the quality of the light coming out of a device that fits on my flash. It's evenly distributed and soft, but not too soft or flat. It plays well with my Nikon iTTL also, very consistently exposed - which has often made me nuckinfutz with other modifiers. It STAYS PUT too but is still easily removed. The magnet attachment system on this system works very well. It's actually hard to shake it off, but it comes off easily when you want to. ... which is part of the only downside I see. The magnets do add weight, between the grip and the modifier combined - it will add a noticeable amount. I'm not saying it's extreme ... but it's noticeable. To me though - it was so very worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excited let down The product 'looks' great. However, I have not used it yet. The issue is that the MagShpere does not come as a complete set of items. I have the globe, but the magnetic attachment is not here. Had to order it separately. I watched the video, got excited and purchased it -- done. Picked up the pkg ready to try it out. Opened the well designed packaging and . . . dud. No magnet part. Advice: You should stress that the unit comes in two parts and must be purchased separately. Which obviously takes the price up. This is the first time in several years of purchases that I have felt that B&H has not informed me fully when making a purchase. Nothing malicious, you just missed it. Just thought you ought to be aware. Loyal customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's like having a 5" reflector The MAGMOD MagSphere is like having a 5" reflector around your flashbulb. That spreads out the shadow behind the subject. I used it for portraits of a guy indoors. That did not work out so well because the wall behind was too close, and I could see the shadows from the ears. But outside, it worked great as a fill-in flash. Since I seldom take really serious picture there is no justification to get studio equipment that would really soften the shadows. So this is essentially the next best thing, aside from bouncing the flash off the ceiling. One drawback: the price is quite steep. Ouch!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The perfect tool for extra light that's not overdone I've avoided flash for years because I think it always looks so forced. I finally cracked for really low light situations, where even at f/1.4 it just wasn't cutting it. Love the subdued lighting this provides, and how easy it is to use. Loses one star because of the material - it collects dust and hair like you wouldn't believe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased I purchased both the MagSphere and the MagBounce at the same time because I didn't know which would be more useful. MagSphere is proving to be the more versatile of the two, but both have earned a place in my bag. The light is soft and even, and so much better than the Sto-fen it replaced. You have to get the MagGrip, and I recommend getting the kit rather than just the grip by itself - the gels alone are worth the extra expense.
