question
Does this unit make noticeable fan noise? I found the Roland V-1HD and BlackMagic ATEM Television HD (latest) they all have loud noise and did not work for my quiet studio and now I am looking at this unit. Thank you.
According to Datavideo: The unit has a single 2 fan in the back, its rather quiet, but I do not have any comparative testing to back that up.In a recessed equipment rack you probably would not hear it however, it seems that the customer has a single room studio without a control room. What I can say is weve never picked up any fan noise when recording our product videos featuring the 1200.

question
with this switcher, can we have a logo in our production?
Datavideo says - Any Input (1-6) can be used as a Frame store (Stills Store): Up to 24 images stored on SD Card. So yes, you can display your logo on the screen with this switcher.

question
Does This Have PIP in it? Because I'm really liking this one than the Blackmagic Switchers out there, I'm comparing it to the Datavideo SE-2200 Which has the same 6 channel inputs but that one has a little bit of advantage than this one. I.E 2x PIP and the Overlay Thing. So does this have a PIP then?
Yes it does, the Datavideo SE-1200MU does offer a Picture-In-Picture effect.

question
Is there a control surface that will work with the RS422 port on this?
They do make one now, it debuted in April 16: Datavideo RMC-260 Remote Control for SE-1200MU

question
Are both HDMI outputs assignable? Or is one used for the multiviewer? I'd like to use one as the multiviewer and other HDMI output feed into a recording/streaming device.
The SE-1200MU has one assignable HDMI output and two assignable SDI outputs. The second HDMI output is for the multi-view only.

question
If I need to insert a clock shot into the video, can I do that with this switcher?
If you wish to train a camera on a clock face, you can certainly pull up that camera and put that into your main view if you wish.
