The ProSECURE UTM25S Firewall from Netgear is a modular firewall with security features such as anti-virus, anti-spam, web filtering, and intrusion prevention (IPS) built-in. It has two modular slots that allow for optional interface cards for specific connectivity requirements and includes a Wireless-N module module and a 1-Year Bundle.
Traditional firewalls block/accept traffic based on IP addresses and ports. The built-in application firewall of the ProSECURE UTM allows the UTM to monitor, control, and block various applications and features a cloud-based anti-virus engine with dual layer virus protection. It uses information from a global network of threat analysis centers along with cloud look-ups, and delivers protection against threats for multiple types of traffic.
Administration is performed through a web-based interface from which you can set granular policies and alerts, check summary statistics, graphical reports, and IP address-level data, and integrate log data with standard network management tools using SNMP. Malware and IPS signature, software, and firmware updates are handled online and automatically by the UTM.
The included Wireless-N Module provides access point capability to connect Wireless-N clients at both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequencies at up to 15x the speed and 10x the coverage of legacy 802.11g networks. The built-in USB port supports qualified 3G/4G USB dongles from major ISPs to be used as either a primary or backup WAN connection.
The 1-Year Bundle includes 1-year web support, 1-year email support, and 1-year software upgrades, in addition to IPS, app firewall, 24/7 support, and advanced replacement from Netgear.
