B+W Screw-In Metal Telephoto Lens Hood Overview

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

The B+W #960 metal telephoto lens hood is made of black-anodized aluminum with light-absorbing flat black ribs on the inside, and due to it's cylindrical shape this hood is especially suited for telephoto lenses.

Bought for a lost lens hood on Sony 70-400mm g. Perfect fit and i like the quality of the metal. Solid. Was also able to put lens cap on the other end, so good is on and ready to go all the time.

Is this compatible with the Nikon 75-300/4.5-5.6 AF lens with a 58mm filter size?

The B+W 58mm Screw-In Metal Telephoto Lens Hood #960 will fit the Nikon 75-300mm. However, the Sensei LHR2-T58 3-In-1 Rubber Lens Hood (58mm) would be a better option: B&H # SELHR2T58 MFR # LHR2-T58: https://bhpho.to/2LZkisZ.

I have an 85mm and 100mm lenses that I'm looking to buy lens hoods for. Both have 58 mm filter diameters. Will this hood work for these focal lengths?

I dont' see any picture of the threading to screw the hood onto a lens... does this fit the same 58mm threads as any 58mm filter would , or is this only for a specific brand of lens?
