The Sony FS7 Lightweight Plate from SHAPE is a fixed baseplate that provides 15mm LWS rod support without interfering with the camera's shoulder-mount design. A pair of 8" long 15mm rods is included for attaching optional accessories such as a follow focus and matte box. In addition to rod ports, the Lightweight Plate also features ARRI rosettes on each side for attaching the FS7's right handle and an optional left-sided rosette handle. On the underside of the baseplate is a V-lock delta adapter, allowing the baseplate to be mounted on V-lock quick-release tripod plates, such as the Panasonic SHAM-TM700 or Sony VCT14. The delta adapter is attached to a bottom door, which can be opened up to access 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera screws.

SHAPE FS7LW Overview

Great lightweight option for the FS7

Works great for what it is. Sometimes you do not need a huge shoulder rig baseplate on the camera and this helps a lot by reducing weight. Someone in the reviews mentioned that the Shape fs7 adjustment arm didn't work with this, but I have not had that issue and it works fine.

So close, but yet a near miss.

The whole point of this plate is to help make the FS7 a better run and gun machine. I want to be able to use a follow focus and matte box. This product does all that. But I also want to be able to put the camera on a trip-pod without removing the arm from the arri rosette. As anyone who has used this camera for 5 minutes know you need to loosen the screw half a turn and fold the handle back, to mount on a trip-pod. Unfortunately SHAPE has put the threaded tightening nut on the right side of the camera right where the handle mounts. Why didn't they just put it on the left where nothing is in the way? Not reversible. Very unfortunate, so close to being well worth the price.

I already have a Shape for my C300, I dont want to have to but a whole knew one for my FS7. Does this fit right onto the C300 Shape Shoulder mount?

This system does have 15mm rod support. If you have a shoulder rig that has 15mm rods you should be able to use this with the system.

It looks like there are holes on the bottom which would allow me to attach my Miller Compass 12 camera plate, instead of the supplied V-lock Delta adapter. Is this true?

Yes, both 3/8 and 1/4 holes... I'm using mine with Manfrotto plate.
